I fully support Google's stance, THUMBS UP G!

I am wondering if Bushes recent request to G has anything to do with google bombing? To me, that hurts...the biggest SE on the planet telling the world every day it's version of 'miserable failure'.

    Get the word out Homer!

Bush wants to censor the search results, filtering out anti-Republican results, this is breaking the constitution which he swore to uphold when he gave the oath of office and is a threat to all Americans hold dear!!

He high jacked two elections and now he wants to high jack the search engines!

Bush is out of bounds and is drunk with power, he needs to be looked at, not Google!

Google has also an agreement with searchers and that is that they use the info collected to improve their service only and for nothing else.

So 1 billion plus searchers against the govt

    hahaha

First I don't think you realize the signs of paranoia are when you begin to think you are the only one entitled to post. That is one.

Next I thought you were somewhat literate but since you claim my posts make no sense but are yet able to comment on my signature indicate you make inconsistent statements.

And using the drunk as bush on a six pack thing makes no sense, since I do not think much of the current administration to anyone who is literate and following the thread.

Actually this is quite funny but it was meant to poke fun at people who have 2 or 3 links in their sig files Anthony

    Like yours

Then I thought about this and wondered why you feel you can hawk your wares in your signature,, but I cannot sell my signature... then it hit me "delusional pananoia"

After you asked if I got any PM's I got a few actually

One was from the white house...they will pay me $500.00 a month to link to your profile here at DP with the anchor text "Silly Paranoid Man"

the next was from the democrats who are also offering $400.00 if I will link to your websites with the anchor text "Not One Of Us"

and I have one to link to you with the text "misrable failure" from President Bush......he's offering a six pack

    Yeah OK man.......

Do you know what it means to actually post something relevant to the topic

That is why I said something about your posts!

The signature deal is kind of stupid if you ask me!

Your Signature = For Rent- Send PM To Advertise Here!
    It's exspensive though

Maybe you should take it down!

In addition, please don't insult yourself anymore with stupid posts!

Now, I'll make it clear that I'm not certain on this:
The data protection act here in the UK require a company to not hand over personally identifiable information to any third party without your express permission - unless required to do so by law. And I believe that the third party have to expressly name the person who's information they want to view. They can't simply say - lets have a look and see who's doing what.
So, although Google are a US company, they are operating servers here in the UK (I think). So would they have to be compliant with the same sort of rules.
As far as I'm concerned the government can get of their own arses and do their own work. If what they want doesn't justify a court order, then that's their tough shit.

Google are taking the correct stance (imo).

It is the same thing as the government going to Playboy magazine or your business and asking for all the data in your network!

Bush simply wants to turn Google into part of the CIA/NSA/Homeland Security department....

He needs to get a life!

What he really wants to do is to censor the search results like China does!

This is America, not Nazi Germany or Russia or China, all of us need to let him know about this by protesting and writing our lawmakers telling them that we will replace any of them that support Bush!

Hmmm I am not sure that why Google declined it ? it's not that they are asking the information for some political reasons. I think Google was just trying to set a example that they will not give any info to anyone for anything.

I'd like to think that any ethical company would have denied the request - yet I know that many wouldn't.
I will give any information out from my company if the requesting agency arrives with the correct paper work - ie a warrant or court order - without giving it a second thought.
If they come purely with a request then they'd be told to F off.

Europe has fantastic data privacy laws, much better than the USA has, we have breaches of data all the time here where hackers steal credit card and personal information from credit reporting agencies!

In all fairness the "hackers" are much more crafty. These credit reporting companies are throwing out the non-shredded records in garbage cans or dumpsters with no locks or security.

It takes a mastermind to get to that information.

(Never mind government agencies like Child Serivces which regularly dump private information in publicly accessible areas)

We have had bank employees busted that worked in IT operations many times, there is little security, not just with firewalls but with the people inside these operations in many cases!

One company lost their authorization from Master Card because their security was so poor, so it is not dumpster diving in most cases but inside jobs that criminals pull off to support their drug habits and so on!

So here is Google's response, presented by the famous Perkins Coie (personally, this company's clients list, amazes me) to DOJ's subpoena.

    More info at Cutt's "Faq".
