16 clicks and no conversion?

I'm very new to this, so I decided to test the waters with my blog (in the signature) before going all-out with adwords and a landing page. I put up an ad for JohnQ TV in the sidebar, a 300x250 ad, for which I have two spots available. In the other spot I put a web.com advertisement, both from Azoogle.

I've gotten 16 clicks with JohnQ TV since yesterday but no conversions. Is this normal? What do you guys think I could do to increase the rate?

16 clicks is nothing to do a real test i use hundreds if not 1000's of clicks on an offer. also are you targetting key isn't just getting clicks its getting people to click that are interested in what you are offering and want it.

Find a good audience... get your clicks to < .06 and your in profit.

You're being a little too hasty with the conclusions. 16 clicks is absolutely nothing worth making a decision over. I generally delete keywords if they accrue 60%-70% of the cost of a single conversion's revenue, or after 50 clicks and no conversions (whichever one's first).

    16 clicks is nothing
landing pages help you make the user more interested
where your visitors come from is important, they're just curious or actually searching for what you want to sell them?
the last one is critical, you can achieve 1:2 on some nicely paying offer or 1:1000 on $0.75 offers...it all depends on what the visitors are looking for when they visit your page
