Firefox referrals are now BACK!

    Thank God for that!

    I was worried that they would stop running them altogether. Anyone else notice the ads are now displaying on their sites?

    Yup. Firefox is back. Gpack isn't, though. I would be unsurprised if it goes up and down a few times in the near future.

    I'm not overly worried about Firefox referrals going away -- until November of this year. Google's contract with Mozilla is up then. Then, Google and Mozilla could renew the contract as-is, they could renew w/o the referrals, they could change the terms of the referral program (more or less money to us publishers) ... who knows.

    With the way the economy's going, I'm concerned that there will be less money in online advertising (because of consumers buying less) except for a few specialized fields like, oh, financial advice and debt collection. And that could affect us negatively. (The toolbar would simply be worth less.)

    But who knows what the future holds.

    (Or I could be wrong, and the referral program might not be tied into the Google/Mozilla contract. This is pure speculation on my part.)

    I'm exploring other options for $$$ after Google. And squirreling as much of my referral revenue aside as possible, for that day.
