This is great..I just love it when a plan comes together, perhaps I won't get a backer...however I am pretty good for my word ;)

I need a backer or two
    it's £1000

    this is the good bit...

I want the payment in installments of £100.

you pay for the results...in installments.

if you say yes..and this thing kicks off...you will get MAJOR press.... I mean MAJOR because you helped get it going....especially with the weight around here at digital point....I can chuck about 30K pages at it, you will even feature on my press release.

PM me if you are interested...however i will NOT share my idea with you, so don't expect me to tell you much about it.

    I mean major.

oh yeh..and I need to find out about press release stuff..that's just pay PRweb, right?

If it does not take off you will have only paid £100 and I can compensate you for that with links from my dozen sites anyway...

so there is NO downside really.. any takers?

you can PM me if you prefer.

oh..what do you get for your money? ...an advert :)

Well if might help if you just listed all the sites you have developed in the thread with some sort of idea of what possible investors will get if they invest in your project!

Are you offering ownership in these sites ?

(and also a website visionary) ;)

I had a chance to buy into Alex's page early on, but the ads were high priced and you had to spend a thousand dollars to get a decent sized ad so I never got in, to bad for me!

Um sorry to be a spoilsport here, but if the idea is so great why not just get some professional business backers? They could give you much more money to work with. Judging by your username, you probably have some business ties..why not ask some business associates? I dont think this is the best place to solicit funding for a project.

I'm not, I am chatting in one of the internets best forums with some of the best webmasters available in the world... and you ;)

It's only speculative conversation to see if it is a viable transaction, seeing as you technically only have £100 to lose/pay.

Hopefully when it launches people here will post....
"holy cow!, I wish I'd thought of that" and "Well done GEM"

30k of weight is not really that useful on 8 brand new domains IMO, you can do a lot more harm than good depending on where you intend to get your traffic from.

You wouldn't get any professional backing on a blind idea, it could be a pixel site with a twist which wouldn't entertain anyone, I think you'd at least need to detail the project but use a non-disclosure agreement for potential backers so your idea is safe and the potential advertiser can at least get some idea.

So basically you're looking for 1 (or 2) people to pay you £1,000 for a site they know nothing about, and in return they will get advertising (unspecified time length, media type, position, etc) on this site, which may or may not take off.

Sounds like a great deal :)

    :D LOL

No, I'm looking for someone to pay £100, if it takes off they pay another £100
and it keeps going until they max out at £1000.
If it doesn't take off, then you don't pay anymore installments only your original £100, which you would get compensated for with links from my sites.

It's not really a big deal ;) ... and I wouldn't want to disappoint you all with a crap idea.

    1. How can you not afford £100?
    2. Why can't you get a family/friend?
    3. What kind of media coverage? What audience? Exclusively UK? What demographic?
    4. What kind of idea is it, so I can judge the risk, ie. is it selling a food product or offering a garment service?

I can afford it. It's paid for already, and the site is nearly finished already.
I just felt like getting someone else on board financially so I can get some PR's out there...
and they may know a few extra tips too. :)

I like new ideas and I'd probably invest in it, though I don't know you, Solicitors Mortgages.

But ... I wish I had at least the slightest idea of what is this all about..

In terms of raisng some funds...no

in terms of the site being online...no

it's nearly ready, but I lost a days work today as my 4 year old son was taken to hospital after failing the meningitis 'glass test' at the local doctors surgery.

yeh sorry should have added...it's not meningitis. Thanks for your concern.
He was in for about 4 hours, and spent the rest of the day just being generally ill ...but it's not the dreaded 'M'.
