Hi guys, I know that a link from a relevant, high PR site could be really helpful, but what if the page which links to your site doesn't have a PR? Let's say; there is a PR5 site and it links to your site in an inner page which doesn't have a PR. How will Google consider this link? Will it be considered a high PR link or an ordinary link? I'd like to get your opinions on this. Thanks in advance.
Hi You should not get too hung up on PR, relivence of the site is much more important. If a site has a high PR index page and a newer inner page linked from the index page has no PR then the link is still worth having as in the next PR update or so the inner page should gain its own PR. Remember link age is also important, so if you are an early adopter then as the page gets older your link on it becomes more valuable. All PR is realy good for is giving an indication of how often a page is lightly to be visited by the bots, a PR5 should get visited multiple times a day and so the link from that page should be picked up by G a bit quicker than if it were on an internat page, but you are normally only talking a couple of days difference. Links from a higher PR page will increase your own PR but not neciserily your positions in the search engines, there are lots of examples of sites with low or no PR being in the top results for searches. Remember it is the visitors you get that will make your site a sucsess not the PR in the tool bar. Sorry for going on a bit. All the best SKE
Even if your link has high or low PR, it doesn't matter anymore. Avoid being stuck in building your PR because as of now selling links for PR is not that much anymore.
if yuo are JUST considering your toolbar PR, then getting backlink from a low or no PR site will also help. most likely the low PR site is new and didn;t get the updated PR yet. as long as that page is linked form main page or within sitemap, then it will gain its PR over time. how google will consider this in terms of SERP is whole different question. if the page is relavant to your content, then google will vew it positively
