Joomla good for gallery features?

I haven't used Joomla yet, in fact i haven't used a CMS, and for anyone who has already used joomla, would you prefer it over WP, for gallery features available from the various modules?

I know i shouldn't be comparing it to wordpress, im sorry, but even just taking a quick glance it looks like joomla may be a bit more handy for images.

So far i haven't felt the same about wordpress regarding images.

Would like to know your opinions please.

Thanks poytspot, over the last few days ive been looking at the various modules and stuff available for joomla, ive noticed theres a good choice related to galleries, im amazed overall at what is available for it.

Even having to buy some of the extras in the future i wouldn't mind, the sheer choice and flexibility appeals to me, im not sure why i didn't become interested in joomla before now.:)
