I have been hosting a few of my sites with Axis Host for some time now. At first I had no problems at all with them, but in the past couple months I a have seen quite a few times where the emails do not work and the sites are 404s for an hour or so at a time. I keep telling myself that I am going to move the sites, but I am a little lazy so I let it go - until the next time it happens. Then I am once again fuming mad and saying I will move the sites and cancel the hosting. Has anyone else here had experiences with this host?
Well I am registered on many webhosting forums and I never heard of them before. You can probably do a google search on them and probably find out something. http://www.google.com/search?hl=en&...en-US:official&hs=s7X&q=Axis+Host&btnG=Search But if you plan on switching TmzHosting does free transfers if you use cPanel. Just make sure you dont cancel your account. If your interested im on live chat we can talk. - Prilep
Have you actually tried contacting their support asking them about this? I always hear great things about AxisHost so I'm skeptical the problem has anything to do with them.
Tina is the owner of AxisHost. You could contact her at . Please do not mention that I told you her email address, as my company's relations with AxisHost are not good (They deleted the data of 60 of my clients, without explanation).
I have a reseller account and am hosting several websites with them. My sites were all down as long as several hours this morning (at least 4 hours, but possibly longer as I got offline and dont know what time they came back up). During the past few months the same thing has happened 3 or 4 times. Last summer my sites were up and down over a period of 4 days.
Have you actually contacted support? The old story of all my sites were off line for 4 hours really doesn't prove anything. We've had customers sites go off line before when it was completely on their end. Something as silly as removing your custom name servers at your domain registrar could knock things out. Not to say it's on your end but if you never contact the hosts support you're never going to find out what the true issue is.
To be honest I dont care whether you believe me or not. I am not here to prove anything to you. I know what happened and that is all that matters to me as far as that goes. And just so you know, I am not ignorant and did not do anything silly like removing name servers. As I already explained I am hosting several sites with them. And YES I have been in contact with support and YES they are aware of the outage. In the past I have had the sites down and contacted support only to have them email me a couple hours later saying that my sites were loading fine. Well, yeah, they were loading fine then, but not at the time I sent the messages. Also when the sites are down I cannot access cPanel, or email either. In case you are wondering I always contact a few of my friends and have them check to see if the sites are up - so I know it is not on 'my end'
Sorry to generalize here but most users on this forum never contact support or anything and simply come here to bitch about issues like they expect to get support from here. Add onto the fact that I've never read a single bad thing about AxisHost I just had a hard time believing that anything besides the standard digital point user of do nothing was accomplished. My best suggestion here is to try posting your complaint / review on www.webhostingtalk.com which Tina actually visits. I'm sure you'll quickly get this figured out if you post there.
AxisHost seems a reputable company. Try to contact Tina @ WHT - she will help you. Regards Edit : InFloW catch me
As I said I have already been in contact with support (Tina in fact) and they are aware of the problem. I did not come here for support or to bitch. I came here to ask about what others in the forum may have experienced with the host. I have a couple other hosting accounts with different hosts and my sites there are rarely ever down and when they are it is only for a few minutes.
Well regardless if you want it solved posting on www.webhostingtalk.com is the best way to get things solved if the host is not doing it. It is the largest hosting related forum on the internet. It is also where even the largest hosts are very active in. You'll see guys from hosts such as hostgator, dreamhost and pretty much any large dedicated provider. So hosts take bad reviews or complaints very seriously there. On digital point seems days of down time is acceptable based on the fact people go down for days are unhappy then things come back online and everything is great again.
The websites are no longer down. So as far as that goes the problem is solved, but I expect that within a week or three it will probably happen again (unless I move them). I did not start this thread to solve the problem or to get any type of support. I started this thread to see if I could find out if others have had similar problems. I do not need to go to a forum to discuss this with Tina, I have already said that I have been in contact with her and the support people. Why would you suggest that I go to a forum (I am well aware of that forum) and contact them again? She is a very polite person by the way and offered to give me backups and a partial refund on hosting.
The reason I suggest it is if you post a bad review about a host it hits a lot larger user base. As a result the host is going to actually want to investigate your problem so that you can say in the same topic that the issue has finally been resolved.
