Create a Facebook group, make it viral (it takes ALOT of work to get in rolling in the beginning...)....and, place a link at the very top.... My Facebook group has over 130,000 members now (It grows by several thousand daily...)....and, I have my forum link at the very top....and, it's related to the niche just some thoughts

do SEO is hard have slow but it bring to you more quality traffic. StumbleUpon is easy and fast, it can bring to you 10k UV after 1 week, but all traffic is not good!

On a side note: I really like your blog and love how the comments on your blog are highlighted on mouseover.. Was that feature done custom or was it part of your theme? I would suggest just having lots of content, improving your search rankings, and do something that will make people want to refer your website to others.
in simple terms, it means worry about unique content, backlinks and other aspects of SEO.. dont worry much about PR.. that will follow.. probably..
