Whats up with this?

I am filling out the forms for some directories and it keeps saying:
"The URL could not be validated. Either the page does not exist or the server cound not be contacted."

My website is online and I am typing in the right address and I have not submitted links to these sites.

Any ideas?

What is the URL? title, text, keywords, category..

Its done it on the last 10 directories that I have tried. I was going down this long list in one of the threads. I know all the information is right.

 

The script by default, pings your website and checks if it really exist and is working.

Sometimes due to dns issues this pings does not happen. I would suggest you to wait for sometime and then try again.

I'm sure that's just an error from the directory script skip it go to the next one ....

Just now I checked my directory and hasn't such issue.

 

Who hosts your site Greendog and is it behind a firewall that blocks pings? Is possible it is ddos protection provided by your host that is blocking incoming pings?

Try pinging the directories that have rejected your submissions. It may be possible that they are all owned by the same person or reside on the same network which has problems at the moment. It would be extremely odd to find six directories in a row that all have the same problem. Most of them, if not all, likely have something in common (same owner, same host, or your site firewalled).

That looks like a phpLD error. This normally happens when the directories have a huge ban list and/or require a reciprocal link. There is a reciprocal link verification fix, but it does require the server have some additional features installed for it to work.

 

Why do i get the feeling that you are trying to submit a reciprocal link listing and the code given has not yet been installed/put on your website?



Try some other directory that does NOT have the reciprocal option. Since only those that require a reciprocal will actually 'check' your website while you are submitting.

 

eh why hasn't anybody ask what the link is, besides that @GreenDogs' last signature link doesn't work and nobody has mentioned that either, maybe thats not the one ?

I had the same problem. When I submit it to directories one of my sites keep getting this error "The URL could not be validated. Either the page does not exist or the server cound not be contacted."

This site's URL redirects from http to https. Do you think it has something to do with it? My other sites with no redirects work just fine when I submit.

I am getting this too on some directories.

The url is a .info URL and has hyphens in it.

Most directories accept it, but I get that error message every once in a while. When I copy and paste the exact URL into my browser the site comes up fine.
