$35 Logo Design Contest for Spartan Media!

Hi DP'ers,

I'm conducting this $35 Logo Design contest for the domain Spartan Media [-dot-] com.

I'm looking for a really simply but really cool iconic logo. Here are some design details:

1. Would like the icon to be to the left of the text (not above the text).
2. The icon should be a Spartan/Trojan Helmet. (for examples go to google images and type in trojan helmet or spartan helmet). I like the ones with the plume.
3. The text should be "Spartan Media". It can be on one line or two.
4. Text should be clear and readable. If you can also help to tie in the spartan theme into the text that would be cool too.
5. Flexible on the colors... but would prefer Red, Orange, Black, etc. (not blues and greens).
6. Shadow are ok but no reflections are needed.

I'll provide as much feedback as possible on each design submission. I know there are a lot of really talented designers here on DP and I'm looking forward to your submissions.

Great work RNHALAWI. I'll accept post #4 as your entry. You are welcome to submit alternate entries if you want. Just make sure they are different.

To everyone else, I just noticed I didn't put an end date on the contest. I will run this contest until this Friday (1/11). I know it takes some people time to put an entry together so I want to make sure everyone get a shot.

Hi Everyone,

First I want to thank everyone who has submitted an entry so far. There have been some really GREAT entries. It's going to be tough to decide on a winner.

I wanted to give some feedback on the entries submitted so far. I've compiled all of the entries which I am accepting for consideration in this reply below:


RNHalawi - As I stated earlier, great entry. No other feedback at this time.

DeanInspiried - Nice entry. The helmet design is interesting. Can you remove the .com from the second line and space out the letters in the word MEDIA so that its the same width as spartan. Then on a third line put the full domain name in a smaller font?

TheChosenOne - Great job. I like the shield idea. The helmet looks good too. I would play with the text some more. Trying some more Spartan-ish (is that word?) fonts. Maybe play with the shield a little too.

DesignFxPro - Great job. I like the font you used. I like that you included the domain name. I think you entry is good and doesn't really need anything else at this point. You are welcome to submit another entry if you like.

Locc - The icon is above the text and I requested the icon to be to the left of the text. You are welcome to correct your design and resubmit your entry. I like that you chose to draw the helmet from a different aspect angle though.

mitcharr - very funny! thanks for the laugh. your welcome to submit a REAL entry.

designfxpro - great followup entries. I like the top one better than the bottom one. I like the color and fading you did to the text in these entries, but I like the font you used in your previous entry (post #17). Can you resubmit the first design in post #19 but with the font from post #17? Hope that was clear.
