I can't dominate this big keyword: Need advice

My site Acne

Im trying to dominate the "acne" keyword. Which is obviously massive, competitive and popular, so hard to do.

I have submitted my site to all major search engines. Have comments and backlinks on just about every do-follow blog (genuine long comments). I have High PR directory submissions. Im accepted by Jayde and DMOZ. I have around 3000 backlinks all of high quality. None have been paid for, they are all legitimate.

I am stranded on the 3rd page of google and yahoo and have been for weeks. I feel i have done everything i can in SEO.

My keyword density is 8%.

Everything is the best i can do. But i have come up short.

I really need some advice.

 

Probably need much more high quality links from authority sites ?

It is a very hard keyword to break into top 3 for such a new site (10mths ?) ... without black hat methods i feel.

I will keep on building links and focus on longer keywords .. with the same effort you probably see much better results in time to come : ))

 

Link building with medical related websites would certainly help.

Use a H1 tag on your page title "Acne Medicine"

I would also be tempted to move the top AdSense banner down approx 2 paragraphs.

^^thats right... i noticed that you have alot of competitors on that kw... how about try other key phrase together with the word acne... ranking a kw usually takes time...

 

Can you try reducing your keyword density to around 3-4% instead? 8% is way too much, to the extent it seem spamming. For a relative new website, it is hard to break to the top. You have done pretty well ranking at 3rd page. Meanwhile, you may want to do well for longtailed keywords too, they can bring you good traffic too.

the word acne returns over 50 million search results. dominating in that keyword will be hard. not impossible, but it will just take long time and real hard focus. i suggest you use a long tail keyword to narrow down your field and identify something your site specifically offer. like acne cream or acne treatment, something like that. use a keyword tool and do a deep search on the keyword to see what people are actually searching for. you have lot better chance to be successful, and it will take less time as well.

 

what you should do:
This is how you will get on first page

1)Remove adsense (for some time only try it)

2)Optimise your index page to contain more relevant keywords and not more that 4% density of acne

4)You shouldn't have link like that http://www.sensibleacneadvice.com/about1.html .Instead about1.html you should have yourkeywords.html.Don't change pages you alredy have but new pages do in that way.

5)Link to you main page from EVERY page of your site.Maybe even 2-3 times.With anchor that contains acne.
You have link structure where every page is equal important.For exemple put this link on every page on your site.

Anchor text is very very important..Your anchor to main page Advice Home isn't good enought.Also yoursite.com isn't the same domain as yoursite.com/index.html so you waste your page rank with this link

3k backlinks won't help in this competitive market

Try geting 100k backlinks then you will see some results

 

Im not to sure how i can get 100K backlinks. i Have submitted to every do-follow blog there is. and directory.

 

I'd try "acne advice" or "acne medication". Just my 2cents.

 

*Write some articles/become an authority on the topic
*Submit articles to article directories
*Start a few blogs and create authority blogs
*Increase in text links on the home page
*Do some articles trades
*Redo your left navigation bar with the URLs matching the text, i.e. fitness-beats-acne.html
*Increase the quality of your content, some articles are too short and lack information a user would need to combat this problem.

Look at the #1 ranked "Acne" site on Google:

Try to emulate the best. They have photos/doctor interviews and so on.

 

Link bombing can also help you...try ti use it in your link....

 

I wouldn't worry about directories so much, unless they're highly targeted medical or dermatological (is that even a word?).

You need higher quality backlinks. Get listed on medical sites, acne solutions provider sites, university sites catering to dermatology and skin problems, etc.

Incorporate some synonyms for acne (i.e. pimples, white heads, blackheads) into your pages and bring down you keyword density. I wouldn't remove adsense, the only likely result will be earnings-wise.

Write some good quality, viral content with lots of homebound links. (i.e. top 10 ways to get rid of acne, all 10 linking back to another post on your site for more info on each method). This approach is two-pronged, you'll not only get some more traffic from the longtail searches for this article, but you'll get a ton of backlinks if it's syndicated well enough.

You took the hard word by choosing a broad highly competitive keyword. Any keyword generator woul giv eyou dozens of highly searched related keywords. Bad acne, acne solutions, bad complexion, pimples, etc. i'd keep the work you've done and concentrate on less competitive keywords.

 

KW density should be 2% no more.

 

if you have been working for one week then your correct result may show in 5-10 days. wait, might be you are done

 

Try some Link baiting Techniques and Build more quality Links for your site...

 

for such a very competitive keyword like that, it will really takes a lot of time. you must give a lot of patience for this...anchoring text strategically will help...

 

how do i change the site urls from about1. to putting my keywords in there.

Im with ixwebhositing. When i change them on webshell 3, using index.html , it doesn't change them from about1. to my actual keywords.

Any advice would be greatly appreciated.
