My website is only showing a few links in google when I type in link:http://www.mywebsite.com However, I have more then 200 links pointing to my website. Why is google only showing a few? Do the links that google is not showing when I type in link:http://www.mywebsite.com help me in anyway as far as seo?

A while ago google stopped showing all backlinks, so as to give the webmasters some free time to spend with their families. If you want to know all your backlinks, go to Yahoo They show all backlinks
Google updates backlinks once 3-4 months olso it shows 1% or so from the total number To see olmost all the backlinks try search.yahoo.com link:http://www.yourdomain.com Regards
The Google Link options has been broken for years, the ONLY way to track which links google has for your site is from Google's webmaster tools. Adding a space doesn't help it just shows links that have your URL in them, for instance if I have a link to my site with an anchor text of "Linux Consulting" it will not show up with the link: url.com
Google link: does not show you all links in. Try using Google Webmaster tool and check under links in.
I see a lot of you saying that the Google Webmaster tools gives a full list. I don't think that's true at all. It's a much bigger list, but for some reason I know they are not showing every link...either that or they are waaaay behind on updating it.
yea chane we cann't see all the backlinks at external links in google sitemap of our site. also i 've used many tools for backlink checker. but there is large of amounts different in many webmaster tools of backlinks checker and google sitemap. we can see most of links in sitemap after updation of google back links. thanks Jay
Google takes time indexing your backlinks, be patient because every 3 or more months, your backlinks will be updated
