What to do if I'm being "itrader" blackmailed?

Ok, so I needed few articles the other day, couple of people stepped up. I chose a guy from India -- he assured me of quality, I said OK and asked for confirmation. I thought he was long gone, but he sent the articles on 4 days.

That's not the case. After reading the articles, I said they were of unacceptable quality (really-realllly bad english). He assured me he would rewrite them, I was very skeptical, but said OK.

And 2 days later after the agreed deadline the rewritten articles were sent to me -- and were of the same BAD quality.

Now this guy is blackmailing me, saying he wants his money, even though I will never be able to use the articles.

How to resolve such a situation at DP?

I dont see how he is blackmailing you.

Tell him straight, you are not going to pay for his article because they are poor quality, tell him to live with it.

Well duh, that's what I've been saying for the last 4 days.

He doesn't understand that though, keeps on saying "I will leave bad itrader and post in your threads always say how bad you are!"

Rofl, but that could really hurt my reputation.

No it won't. Call a jackass a jackass and tell him he's being a c*nt; one bad iTrader isn't going to kill anybody, especially if you explain in the thread what he did...

Maybe even post one of his articles as proof :)

I wouldn't worry about it - one bad iTrader is not going to worry most buyers or sellers - explain in the thread, and accept the rating - anyone who bothers to look will understand that you were in the right. Anyone who is put off by 1 bad rating against several good ones probably isn't worth dealing with anyway

Ignore the stupid f*ck and get on with your business.
IF he leaves a negative Itrade you can leave him one also.
As others have said one negative itrader wont cost you anything.
If he spams your threads report him to the mods.

Lol.. remember mate.. if he goes about b*tching in your threads, simply copy/paste the PM screenshots to let the others know that he is trying to ruin your reputation on DP.

Though I'd recommend ignoring such people... :)

i'll be echoing what others have said.

he did crap work, don't pay him.
he threatens you, tell him, "go ahead"

he posts in one of your threads a negative comment, report it to a mod, he gets an infraction.

so how about you tell us who this person is so we all know who not to do business with.

Good advice, I just want to hear what Mods have to say about this.

Been searching for a "contact mods" button with no luck.

i say pay him and take it as a lesson learned; here's the truth of the matter: you offered work to someone who you had no clue about in regards to his qualifications or the quality of his work. he did what he was asked to do, it's up to the buyer to research the seller. from now on, ask for samples and maybe even a few references.

Yeah, and the fact that it was specifically said to be of good quality + the person DID NOT confirm that he is willing to take the assignment just makes your point more valid :)

his quality and your quality may be two different things =D but hey i'm just giving my opinion, i'm not saying you're wrong not paying him, i'm just saying pick your battles and take it as a lesson learned.
