Page Rank Prediction?

Ok, I have been trying to build up my backlinks for http://www.theunishop.com over the last few weeks and it is going well.

I have traded links with a few peeps on DP (still looking for more if you're interested...).

Now, I know it's possible to get a rough idea of what is going to happen to my site's pr using page rank prediction tools.

Using the tool at iwebtool.com, my site (which is only 3 weeks old with PR 0) is showing that it will have a future pagerank of 5. This is quite encouraging and worth a :D

However, using the prediction tools on seochat, it tells me that all datacentres still show a future PR of 0...

Who should I believe? To be honest, I was quite suprised about the PR 5, since I have only submitted to a handful of directories, and with other sites who are also PR 0 (but have potential).

Can anyone shed some more light onto this?

    Cheers,

    Sham.

There are too many variables in PR to acurrately predict your future PR. I wouldnt worry about it. Just keep getting BLs and add good content often.

I don't think SEO chat predicts future PR. I think it just shows what the PR is on all the data centers in case there is an update occurring.

    mystikmedia is right.

Once again here it is: no one can predict PR

There is a good PR predicter at iwebtool.com. Of course I must agree.

Nothing or no one can accurately predict what PR your site is going to get.

PR prediction tools have always shown that they were unaccurate. I've never seen such a tool that made a good prediction when the PR update came.

In your experience, do they usually predict too high or too low? I never took record of it before and compared.

Most of the time they predicted too high (giving a PR6 for exemple instead of a PR5 when the update came). Anyway, the last Google update seemed to be a little "hard" with several pages...

I had some PR5 pages, that prediction tools predicted PR6. When the update came, they were PR4
    Forget it! ;)

Same story here...i had one site predicted at PR4, and its still at 0..mind you its very new..id be more than surprised if it achieved pr4.

Then again i have an SEO related site which has been pr4 for the longest time..and the predicters have said its going to be pr5...thing is though..i havent touched the site for months. :) although it does have some decent optimization in it.
