OCRIG.com + 23 other proxies, 100K u/v mo, SE traffic, 3 years old

Anyone who has been running a proxy for awhile now should know about www.ocrig.com. Please read the entire description before making any offers.

Reason for sale: I have a full time job, no time to run this site, and am looking into purchasing an Acura NSX.

What is for sale: Ocrig.com + proxy network (23 sites). Obviously the sale is based around www.ocrig.com. The site was created on March 2, 2005 as a web design project. A few months later, it was turned into a proxy. (This was before the huge "proxy boom" where everyone and their dog had one). It originally was run on PHProxy 0.4. It was converted into PHProxy 0.5 in August, 2007 along with a brand new custom theme from www.sourcustoms.com. This is not your average 2 week old proxy with "spiked" stats, nor is it priced like one. The PHProxy files have been heavily modified.

The 23 other proxies were created on February 20, 2007. They are nearing 1 year old. Combined, these received about 25k uniques in December, 2007 with Ocrig getting 75k. If you prefer AWstats, it was counting about 1 million uniques/month before I stopped using it.

Traffic: 75k-150k uniques/month consistent. I have statcounter stats dating back to July, 2006. Traffic is very stable, yes even during the summer. Traffic is 95% from SE's (organic). I do not purchase links for this site, nor have I ever advertised it in email, myspace, or any other form of spam. Iran and China have been banned for as long as I can remember. This is quality traffic, no BS.

Pagerank: 4 (has been PR4 since 2006)

Advertising: none. The site is very well seo'd. I am running DP co-op. It has about 35k weight last time I checked.

SEO: The site currently ranks #3 for "proxy" and #4 for "myspace proxy" in google. These ranks have been steady since early 2007. It used to be #1 for many other terms when I was actively running the site. This is where the real values lies.

Hosting: The sites are currently on a quad xeon dedicated server. I was running them on a $80 server at layeredtech.com and they were fine. I have had images disabled on ocrig.com to keep load at a reasonable level.

Domain: Ocrig.com is registered at eNom. The rest are at Godaddy.

Revenue: I know this is said a lot, but it is VERY true for ocrig. The site has never been seriously monetized. What I mean is that I haven't spent the time it takes to do a/b testing with placement, colors, etc. The site currently runs Google Adsense only. It made $262.88 with Adsense in December, 2007 (last month). Every 3 months or so, I post a thread here selling links. I have sold links to 51 different people since January 5, 2007. (I keep a log with all the sites, and how much they paid.) Recently, I have not been going after link sales, due to lack of time. I made $170 in link sales in February.

I ran an Adbrite leaderboard at the top of every page from January, 2007 to halfway through September 2007 before I took them off because the ads were lagging each page. Adbrite averaged about $150/month.

So to summarize (if you utilize the 3 mentioned forms of monetization):
+$250 from adsense
+$150 from adbrite
+$170 from link sales
=$570

In the past, I have also run YPN with limited success. (before YPN went down the drain). I think I made about $250 over 2 months with 1 block ad. Before September, I did not run adsense. I ran Adversal in late 2006 until they dropped their rates.

The other sites: Talk about major neglection. Most of the other proxies are running on phproxy 0.4 with the same theme. If you put some time into each one and improved on the 25k u/v per month, you could make some serious cash. One of them, www.unblockb.info averages something like 12% CTR. I tried selling it a few weeks ago. Check this thread for full details on that site (http://forums.digitalpoint.com/showthread.php?t=598822).

Here is a list of the other sites included. They all get decent traffic (range from 500-5000+ uniques/mo) Please ask for more details on these sites if you are a VERY SERIOUS BUYER. It is extremely time consuming gathering individual screenshots for each single site. I have full traffic stats for each domain.



About me: I think it's always nice to know a little about the owner. Some successful sites that I have owned in the past include, www.dam7.com, www.imagecross.com, and a huge proxy network that I sold here in 2006. You should not disclose everything on your adsense screenshot without editing first because it violates adsense's TOS. Anyway, I'm very impressed. $3500 a little too steep for me but it looks well worth it.
