    my site is at the first page of Yahoo.co.uk for my keyword...#2 result :eek:

    i was so working my way into Google that i forgot about yahoo.....but...:(
    i should be getting more visitors that i am getting right now...because of my main keyword is so popular, well that's what Google and Overture said :confused:

    what is going on?!!

    Congratulations to you, ive been so concentrating on the others that suddenly when i check yahoo i realise im ranking on there too at times.

    Your site looks very nice, tidy and i love that green.

    Thats the shock sometimes though, ranking well but not such an increase in traffic, at least not straight away.

    Could be wasted time though if a site you have worked like crazy on for google rankings ends up not with the desired results, could make someone feel quite bitter.

    It's easy to disappear from Yahoo just as quickly as you appeared, can never celebrate a Yahoo position, just see them as bonuses.

    I have been on the first page (up and down 2 or 3 positions every update) the last two years, for many keywords, some very popular.
    On-site optimization, fresh content, and relevant backlinks will keep you on top.

    I have clients sites easily in top 10 of MSN or even Yahoo sometimes but it doesn't mean much in most cases, in terms of traffic. Google still rules the internet planet :)

    True but more so with yahoo. Some sites stay put (I've got one that does) but jo-jo effect is more common. To me Google is just more predictable while Yahoo and MSN don't make much sense at all and appear very random.

    Also unless you're high on page 1 in yahoo and MSN you don't get much for it.

    I have ranked #1 for several sites on Yahoo at various times-it comes and goes-rather erratic, but even when ranked one, volume is insignificant compared to a high google ranking.

    plus the number one result is Yahoo itself...so i cant compete with them...i am the little guy :rolleyes:
