Some people that have no clue about engines say that MSN is growing and will soon beat Google and bla bla bla...

Fact is that they suck and have sucked since they created their engine. Terms that have a #1 spot bring in a few visitors, while the same terms ranked #10 at Google bring in 20 times more visitors

Very little traffic. It is pathetic how small MSN search volume is compared to google.

Much of my traffic (hundreds of thousands a day) is from MSN, and it converts very well. I make a pretty penny from it. ;)

I hear you all. I find MSN a lot more relevent then Google but the traffic is bad. One area that sent me almost as much traffic as Google was my Microsoft site MSN sent me craploads of traffic.

IMO I believe Redmond has some tricks waiting when Vista is released.

MSN tends to focus more on title tags and alt tags than Google.

1/3 of my unique visitors and nearly 1/2 of pageloads come from MSN. That's out of about 1,000 pageloads daily.

all relative - with a 2:1 conversion - in monetarian terms maybe more than you make....

    back to base

on non gimmick / electronics / white ware /
    M & Y shows a significant higher conversion rate
sometimes these only have about 25% of traffic but close to 50% of sales

    Let them live ...

Agreed... even if they only send in a few visitors, it is better than nothing. And I have sites that are only ranked at MSN, so even though the traffic sucks at least it is something.

Though I don't get a ton of traffic from MSN, I don't get a lot in general, and most of my traffic from my msn keywords does indeed convert.

I get plenty of MSN hits on some sites. MSN loves the Coop.

I don't think many webmaster type people use MSN. They know better.

Others leave the default Windows browser that was there when they loaded their machine.

On some newer sites, all my hits come from MSN. My more established ones are primarily from G. I can't recall ever getting a visitor from Yahoo!, but I'm sure I have on occasion.

For certain topics, MSN traffic converts to adsense clicks at an almost alarming rate.

I agree with Fryman that most of the MSN traffic is poop. But, there are some areas that generate decent traffic from top positions...and as Ace mentioned, the traffic converts very well. I had a small term pop on a site this past week over there to number one and it is making some decent kerching every day from it. I think the rookies that use MSN are less used to seeing things like adsense and banners in general. Hopefully, that will improve as things like Vista hit the market.

MSN performs pretty well IMHO. One thing everyone seems to forget is that when MS finally gets a new version of their OS planted firmly in the grips of the shrinking MS dominated PC world, there will be a great deal more traffic from MSN given every IE enabled PC on the planet will default to... where else but MSN's search.

    Personally I cannot wait!

Unfortunetly I can't say anything good about MSN search. Asside from the fact that the page loads decently quick, what's on it seems to have near no effect on my business volume.....

The search results are much too easy to minipulate and I get just about 0 traffic from them.....

They would be much better off just feeding off of Google and give up already... They can still add their advertising program anyway....

Actually if you want to have an average traffic with an average hosting plan. You can count on google to brings you the unique visitors and the good traffic, instead of that msn brings you that shit load of traffic like Jeff said.
