What kind of help are you after? Are you looking to install modules/components? Did the Joomla install go ok?

    Remember, categories go INSIDE sections

    Something like:
    Section 1
    Category 1
    Category 2

    Section 2
    Category 3
    Category 4

    etc.

Took me a while to find that out ;)

With Joomla, make sure everything is organised from the start - makes things much easier later on.

Check out the Joomla.org forums for further help.

You might also find some more luck in the "Content Management" Section of this forum (in the "Design and Development" section). Its all about CMS like Joomla. Also, try to ask specific things as you are getting through the setup process.

I am not here to disappoint you but Joomla is a bit complicated and the initial learning curve is too steep. The best thing you can do to get yourself famailiar with Joomla is to download a Jomla stand alone server software on to your PC and learn by trial and error. I doesn't need to be on the server and things happen fast.

the list as you asked goes like this:

    1. dont rename the section.. unpublish the section you dont want and then make new links for the new sections in the same... positions
    2. which template are you using for this.. describe the section you are using... as all can be done by clicking on the "Content >>all content item"
    3. its easy you have to edit the joomla code if you want customization
    4. in "global configuration" there is a tab "SEO" just visit that and you will come to know...
    5. the joomla is template dependent if you are using a template then you have to edit code in the template files to place the ads at your desired place...

if you want any more help... do ask...

When faced with Joomla for the first time I almost gave up - learning it seemed beyond me

But stick with it - keep trying various things and spending as much time as possible on it and it will soon be second nature

I use it for all my sites these days - it's fantastic

I have two Joomla sites. the first one took 8 months before I was ready to make it public! it has a very, very steep learning curve, but is potentially very powerful.

The joomla forums are very helpful. I PM'd a poster who seemed patient and was willing to give me some pointners.

Write down your structure on paper first.

Unlike a relational database typically works, withy Joomla you are limited ot sections and categories. Every item you post needs a section and a category. One section can have multiple categories, and one category can have mutiple items posted. Here is the site I created with it.

(not sure if it is against terms to post link here? if so I'll remove it...but for the sake of helpign the OP)
