Sudden Drop In Earnings?

Discussion in 'AdSense' started by Viper20, Jan 1, 2008.

About a week ago on one day I got around 15,000 impressions, and 2 clicks (I hardly ever get clicks) and made $3.58.

Yesterday I got 15,311 impressions and 2 clicks, but only made $0.34! Why? Could anyone help me out??

    Many thanks.

Depending on your niche but check your ad placement, number of clicks is very low.

I have review your site.. Your problem is your ads place on very bottom.. Most people don't look at it.. Try move at top area..

google will display ads based on what advertisers are paying for. so from time to time, you will have low payng ads along with some very high paying ads sometimes. thats normal. its easy to identify those when you have only few clicks. i also sometimes get as much as few dollars per click but thats very rare. don't wory too much about how much you get paid per click, most important thing to consider is to generate more traffic and improve the CTR. try different ad placement and play with the color. blend in your ads to match with the rest of your content. more traffic and better CTR will end up making you more money

Why are you worried about revenue per click with only two clicks? Your CTR is dismal - .01%. You would better be spending your energy trying to get your CTR up. Look at your site and determine why so few clicks? Are the ads relevant to the content of your site? Should your visitors be interested in the ads? Are the ads placed where your visitors can see them? Is your site so satisfying to your visitors that they have no reason to click on ads? Or is your site so bad that your visitors leave before even noticing the ads?

    Possible reasons :

    - Christmas season - less advertisers spending, so your visitors are seeing the same ads over and over again.

    - Traffic is not targetted... meaning they are coming from sources that are not related to your topic and so they are generally casual visitors - not particularly interested in your niche.

    - Ad block choice or placement may not be optimum.

    - Traffic is targetted, BUT they visit your site because you are THE authority on your subject and so they don't need to click on any ad to find further information. If this is the case, you might be better off making money with affiliate programs.

    - Traffic is targetted, but they're visiting you (your blog) because they're interested in YOU and what you've been up to, NOT in ads. Again, if this is the case, then Affiliate programs may be better. If lots of people trust you, one good word about a particular product can get people buying.

    Just my 2 cents....

    15000 impressions and 2 clicks
I think one should be very wary of what niche or business he is choosing online
How do you pay for your bandwidth that too running a forum?
