Earlier this morning/afternoon timeframe, I finished completely giving the site with the red link in my sig a complete makeover for 2008. I was talking with my colleague about selling it (everything you see - the whole package) since I really don't want to be spending a lot of time having to promote and market it to profit with it. First off, I'm not good at promotion/marketing stuff. I absolutely suck at it and don't have the will power to learn nor spend time with promotion/marketing campaigns. YUCK! Which is why the idea to sell it came in mind for a marketing guru to take it off my hands and bring about huge success with it. ---> So how do I go about pricing the site (no revenue, yet, as it's been made over into a storefront rather than a graphics portfolio)? ---> Which sites would be best to place a "Website For Sale - Graphics Store" ad? Thanks and happy 2008!
Well your at one of the best places to sell it the other place would be SP. Normally i price a site on 10-20months revenue... but if that doesnt exist you need to look at domain cost, tempalte cost, page rank..... But there is no exact method to do it, its only worth was someone is willing to pay...
Nuke13: Yea, I figured that much as far as it only being worth what someone is willing to pay at the same time they could know it's worth more and pay me little and possibly sell it for more elsewhere (know what I mean). Ten to twenty months of revenue is nice information to know as reference if I ever have a site with revenue. Definitely appreciate that bit of info since I was wondering how people come up with the figures that they do. So thanks a ton on that. But since my site doesn't have any revenue, I guess what I need to figure out is the average cost people are charging to sell their sites like the one I'm wanting to sell (including all logos and full rights, all other graphics found on the site, banner, and so on in addition to what you mentioned). Guess I can include labor creating the logos and all of that, too. I was thinking about SP but I think they charge just to list stuff for sale. And I just spent some dough I had so can't go there at the moment. But will once I do. Thanks for the tip -- or tips. Domino: Thanks for your comments as well. I suppose I can try selling it here. *shrugs* Anyone else: If anyone else wants to add to their comments and knows some other hotspots and pricing information for the kind of site I am selling (link in red in my sig -- no revenue) then PLEASE share ALL you know. Will rep for it. Oh does anyone know if there are people (individual or company) who will sell a person's site for them (take the hassle out of me doing it) and like take a commission from the sale? I guess like a "broker" or something (not sure that's the right term). Thanks in advance & Happy 2008.
