Single-letter names under ".com," ".net" and ".org" were set aside in 1993 as engineers grew concerned about their ability to meet the expected explosion in demand for domain names. They weren't sure then whether a single database of names could hold millions — more than 40 million in the case of ".com" today. Six single-letter names already claimed at the time — "q.com," "x.com, "z.com," "i.net," "q.net," and "x.org" — were allowed to keep their names for the time being.
You said that I couldn't register it and I wanted to know what you meant. I didn't know that they weren't restricted. Why are they restricted?

What's with the 'hardman' attitude lately Fryman? Stop throwing your toys out of the pram, you are behaving like an idiot. DP is a much friendlier place than you make it appear.

This is what happened: I made this thread and somebody said that I specifically couldn't buy them. I thought he was saying that I was too poor to buy one which would have been correct. I then inquired about what he meant but the thread got deleted along with several other posts on the forum. Not because it was spam but because the administer thought I posted just to get access to the marketplace forum. I was genuinly curious about this so I re-created the thread. And that is what happened.
