hello, i started my site as a amateur before knowing really anything about webdesign. when i became better with design and seo i redid my site & ever since then i can hardly be found within google. I used to rank #1 for happy hump day or hump day. Now i cant be found! with my original site i had many mistakes! i had my entire site also loaded on another domain name. and my site pretty much had the same meta tags for every page (about 20). I had a bunch of frames too. since my redesign which was many months ago my google rankings have only gotten worse. i would have thought my new design would have helped me out but it was the total opposite. I am wondering if anyone can take a look at my site and see if they see something out of the ordinary. thank you in advance. my site happy hump days dot com
When you redo a site google redoes the Serp for it. If site is new or just redone wait and see how it goes. Try to get links to site and make sure it is not over optimized.
I would expect a month or two before you see search results normalize again, or even if they ever do. I would need to see your site PRIOR to the change to see if any real damage may have been done.
well, if you know, there's something called "Sandbox". maybe your website is in Sandbox right now and it lasts a while until it would be back on normal SE position. Sandbox exists to prevent NEW websites to occupy a high position in search engine results.
when you change the design or the text placement, google also redo the job for your site placement in the search engine. Try to make your site keyword rich, tableless and made in CSS using proper tags and meta tags.
Do tables have a big effect on SEO, why is this can the Google spider and other spiders not read tables effectivley? Because i use tables for good consistent layout everywhere?
Acc. to me they go by a format. It is very much recommended to have less tabular format especially for the articles.
Is your new design resided on the same domain as the previous one? Google do have a Sandbox but its main purpose is to prevent new sites from rising rapidly in SERPs. Redesign does not really matter so much, we do have clients whom does site design overhaul every 6 months and still they maintained their rankings. Btw, your keyword...hmmm how many searchers would search for it? Find out the monthly search volumes in order to have a better SEO campaign.
