which are better ? image ads or text ads ?

Ok, Can some one tell me from there experience that which type of ads are better(in terms of CTR and earnings per click) - image ads or or text ads ?

Secondly what ad sizes are the best ? I had read somewhere that 386X280 is the best one.

I think text ads are better. You can display more and I've had more luck of people clicking on ads if they are in text format. I use ALL text ads for my sites. I think 336x or x250 are the best sizes. Something in a square size usually does a good job.

 

I think people like to read text ads and not see banner ads.
It's also give you a chance to show more ads instead of one banner ad.

 

People are tired of all this banners. They like the text were they can read what they actully click for. I tried some banners but i have better luck with the text ads always.

 

I would say, you get more clicks from text ads and sometimes text ads actually pay more than image ads. So I would stick with text ads as you can blend them into your page and they don't shout "I AM AN ADVERT!"

 

Based on my own experience, I would only recommend to use text ads in your pages.

I use the 728x15 Ad Link mostly for a great CTR of ~12-32% [scored the 32% yesterday with 300 views, 100 clicks I was happy.

 

Text ads far outperform image. That's why ADsense exists in the first place.

 

Most of computer users are not looking on text ad much . They like to click on the image ads which look different and attractive.
Best size is 'leaderboard' (728x90 horizontal) and the two skyscraper versions (120 x 600 and 160 x 600)

Many of my clients' image ads get several times the CTR that their text ads do on the content network. Because the CTR is strong, the cost per click is lower.

A good banner can convey a much stronger message than text ads ever could. You can tell much more of a story.... and you also take over the whole ad slot. Fewer eyeballs for your competitors!

Image ads don't have to be slick to be effective. One of our best performing banner series was "home made" by the company CEO dabbling in Photoshop. They have a big fat picture of the product, the company name, and not much else.

 

Text Ads are CPC based which beans you earn by each click on the ad.
Image Ads are CPM based which means you earn every time the banner is shown (not clicked!)

Because Adsense is an auction system which shows the best paying ads on your page
you'll earn more over time if you enable image & text ads beaucse then there is more competition.

 

Text because people can write it easily.

 

Hmm so why does my direct advertising marketer has image ad campaigns which pay 50-100$ CPM?
And believe me, there are thousands of advertisers doing branding campaigns on adwords too.

My vote goes for text ads. In my experience text ad is getting decent CPC and CTR.

 

I also think Text ads are more better than Image ads as text ads pay more than Image ads.
