My site was temporarily suspended because of Overuse of mysql processes so my phplinkdirectory and articles directory was not accessible does anyone a suggestion on how to prevent this from happening again To Mod sorry if this is in wrong section but it does have to do with my directories
This is strange, I have never seen this kind of problem before. Are you running any mods or anything that requires extensive use of SQL queries for your directory?
this is why you shouldnt be on shared hosting. phpLD is fairly resource intensive but few realise it. Every page has many mysql connections open, so a few users browsing the site causes problems.
the only thing I can think of is on the article directory which is the articledashboard script I approved alot of the articles that where in there as far as mod no new ones it at my first site in my sig
Shared hosting can only be so cheap when 95%+ of the users barely use any resources. If you use resources then you are a thorn in the hosts side.
im on semi dedicated and have been with the same host for a year now. I pay $60 a month. The speed/resources/support is great, just what i want. Let me know if you want a link
which retard gave me the red rep "dildo". No, my name is mike. I am a human not a sex toy. have the guts to sign your rep next time, loser.
Do you have any facts to backup that statement that phpld is resource intensive? I run and host lots of directories most using phpld never seen my server hog cause of phpld . Please elaborate mikey.
I doubt it's that resource intensive unless it's very very poorly made (possibility lots of scripts do not know how to optimize sql at all). It should only make one mysql connection (only need one per visitor) and if it uses index properly and does not do any stupid queries it shouldn't be much of a problem.
well by looking at log and such I am almost positive its the articledashboard script I am using that is having alot of mysql process overusage
Go with VPS Hosting. It is the right step if dedicated is too expensive. I am currently using JaguarPC.
I think it is really just a gamble on shared hosting, I got kicked off site5 for my directories but a friend still has all his there and has never had a problem. I have been with another shared host, budgethost.ca without any problems.
I have been with this host for over 4 years this is the first time I have had this problem but NOC did have them unsuspended me so the site is back up and running just need to figure out how not to overuse mysql processes
