Few days back, I opened a thread regarding special promotion on my two PR4 directories. Thread URL In the thread I didn't want to show the URLs of my directories and I clearly mentioned why I didn't do it. The reason - ** I have noticed that - if a particular directory is heavily promoted on DP & SP, it gets penalized by Google . ** There are two PR6 directories which met the same fate as my PR6 directory just few days back because they were exposing their directories on DP & SP. So I had valid reasons. I believe DP and SP is heavily monitored by Google guys and if they find anybody selling links for PR purpose - they take actions (supposedly - manual) But this gentleman/lady thinks otherwise - So am I QBC?
I will not brand you as a "QBC". Google does not like people bying and selling links for the purpose of PR. Therefore, people who are engaged in this method of selling links should not be surprised by the actions taken by google.
I know you are not a QBC member, and I am sure that a person with your intelligence never will. I am sure you know the consequences, and as far as I know you are a great person, so no you're not a QBC. Internet is a community, therefore our reputation is worth much more, and we all are aware that QBC members don't last in this biz. I say, ignore the user that gave you that red rep, mainly because I know you're a great person, and second of all, the lame here is that the user that gave you that rep didn't want to put his name on the comment, that's lame if you ask me. imho you are one of the good directory owners on board of dp. and one of the guys who is not affraid to stand up for your opinions. my 2 cents ignore the guy who gave that red rep. it is saying more about the guy who gave it to you.
You are good directory owner and no need to proove yourself as we know you very well. So ignore that red REP and move on. DON
Thank you guys for your support. That guy didn't even know the URL of my directories and gave me a RED! Amusing --- Whereas one directory is 13 months old and another is 7 months old! More-over he/she didn't know that I have been one of the fore-most critics of people who traded on DROPPED DOMAINS. Anyway, let me go out now HAPPILY and play a few games of Badminton to shed the extra fats that I acquired last night during X-MAS celebration! Because the person mentioned dropped domain, is it a dropped domain? I think expressing your fear in that other thread, and your wishes of keeping the urls private, could have someone play with you all the more, once their sure it will bother you they will go out of their way to wind you up more.

ooops, long time since i heard these three letters !!! * i wont lose sleep over it John, if a person dosnt have guts to put their name on a red rep, is actually having a brain fart and the comment in itself loses any authenticity or authority! And you are one person everyone knows so even if someone calls you something we rather laugh at him rather than doubt you M.
You have created some of the great directories which have been on the internet for a long time now! don't care too much about these reps, everyone gets these and life goes one. If the guy who gave the rep had courage, then he would have posted his name after the comment, since he did not do that, so there is no point thinking about it! QBC is a lame term which originated to suite ones own personal gratifications . So do not worry about being a QBC cause its lame in itself
Wow - wow -- I am really overwhelmed. Thanks a lot. Seriously, I can care less about red reps - I have enough greens to site on for months. and also it does not matter what trolls call me. But through this thread - I wanted to share one of the most important thing that I have come across. Its- how Google is systematically finding directories. Its through forums only - and DP is flooded by their informers. So if you have a good directory, I would suggest that you refrain from over-promotion. Build it slowly and be patient.
I really don't think that the guys at Google really work ! and are much busy and worried on pagerank and link selling and hanging out on DP and SP
I've heard the same about DP. Lots of drama. People have personal issues with other websites and complain to G.
