$33,000 per month with Adsese - Why mess with this?

I have yet figured out why people who are making 15K, 20K, or 30K and up with Adsense each month use up their resources, energy, and time in order to either promote a "how to" Adsense Ebook or what is more confusing.... creating a product where they sell exact copies of all of their sites for less than 100 bucks.

For example, I saw this today in a newsletter: www.dominateadsense.com

I'm not one to be pessimistic, just REALLY curious as to why these kinds of products come from those that are making close to a quarter million per year with Adsense or more.

    Your opinions?

    Regards,

    Mike

Most don't. The ones that make the most money most certainly don't. The people who make $1M+/year from AdSense aren't making ebooks about it (they don't want any competition). Maybe when whatever they are doing isn't as easy or possible anymore... then you could write a "how to" book about it to make some money still. ;)

You bring up a really good point which has always made me question the authenticity of these books. If they actually work, why don't the authors do it and stop selling books? If they were making that kind of cash, they would be able to give the books away for free or near-free prices. I'm glad someone else finally brought up the point.

Its not the procedures that are found in books that make money its the idea/niche/website

The biggest part of making huge money with adsense is have a site with traffic. Adsense doesnt do crap without it and no one is going to tell you the idea for a website that makes money.

So these books are a waste of money.

The methods in the ebooks either dont work, contain re-hashed info from the adsense website, or are very vague and filled with affiliate links.

Yeah, all that get rich quick stuff is a scam. Nothing beats hard work. I have read some financial books that are good and worth reading but, buying a book about adsense is a waste of money.

    Mike,

The reason these people are doing "ebooks" when they're already making 250K+ a year off adsense is because the "get rich" market is so amazingly huge. 99% of people who buy those products don't do diddly squat with it, but there are a ton of them.

For example, look at Joel's ebook on Adsense. The guy already makes $25K - 35K a month off adsense. But I would bet you he either comes close to that figure or surpasses it with his ebook products and related affiliate products.

Once you've "proven" yourself, people come flocking to your expertise.

And to all of you who are saying all of these ebooks are scams, I can tell you from personal experience that I disagree. I started my first web site back in 1997 and rode the wave pretty good. I even started an internet company that received a good amount of funding and is still doing well, but I always thought these "ebooks" were a scam too.

About a year ago, I purchased "Traffic Secrets" thinking oh my god, what a cheesy friggin name. It cost $1,000 and they had a 90 day money back guarantee. I swore to myself that I would return the DVDs and get my money back even if I thought it was good. I finally made up my mind to try one of these "scam" products and see once and for all how stupid they were.

Well, believe it or not, I actually kept it. That's how good I thought it was. The information was brilliant. All these years I spent building internet companies and I thought I knew it all, but if you find the right products, there is a wealth of information.

Thanks in part to some of the "ebooks" I purchased, I'm now making over $200K per year with adsense and I don't even spend much time on my sites.

My thoughts as well and in addition, I think some of these people had pretty sad lifes and now they finally had some degree of success so they want to shout it off the roofs. Some people are not very comfortable with success and use it as a cry for attention.

It was my understanding that these ebooks actually contain links and information that leads readers to websites that the creator of the ebook is trying to promote. Let me give you an example from my past which at the time worked ok, then flopped on me:

I started up a free adult picture and movie gallery. In order to find new ways to get visitors to this site (which obviously was very sticky, no pun intended) I created a porn ebook which provided free sites, free pictures and free movies along with exotic stories ect... It was free for people to download and look at, I even made it available in IRC chat rooms and on emule and other peer to peer environments. The ebook would give the reader a few pieces of eye candy to look at, but then would lead them to websites of mine to see more. This drove my traffic numbers up for a little while.

It was my understanding that this is one major reason to create an ebook of any kind. It not only give the writer something tangible to offer the viewers, but in a way allows for self promotion to a website of the same content. If the ebook takes off and is rapidly circulated, it could end up driving LOTS of traffic to the websites in the ebook. A ebook that is all about being successful with google adsense is genius for a couple of reasons:

    - It will obviously have links that show examples of google placement ect, which will drive traffic to the website being promoted.
    - It puts great emphasis on looking and even clicking on the google ads on the links provided in the ebook. If the ebook says, look at the google ad placement example on this example site: the reader will visit the site and not care about the content on the site other than the google ads.
    - All that is left is getting the readers to click on the google ads, which some may do just because they are studying the ads (good tageted google ads about learning how to make money with adsense would be perfect for someone who is reading an ebook on how to make money with google ads).

Anyway...just my two cents. Sorry, I know you didn't ask for em.

I got one of these ebooks in a pack of ebooks I got (about 180 books for £12 off ebay) I plan on selling the books on ebay to those silly enough to purchase them.

Back to the point- the books contain information you get here free, I wouldnt pay $100 for it, but some people do, otherwise they wouldnt be selling them.

This thread seems to have drifted off of the intended discussion, which was not about the authenticity of Ebooks and the information inside them, but rather the psychology behind someone who is earning so much with Adsense who would then sell "copies" of the exact sites he uses, for $99 or less.

I think the people who are making big money sell ebooks because, who doesn't like making more money? They know that 95% of the people who buy the book will never act on the information they are given. 4% of those that do act on it will not be nearly as successful as they are but will still make a nice supplemental monthly income and if the remaining 1% of the people become as successful as they are it's not going to hurt them, the pie is big enough to share a piece or two.

If it is just going to make them more money, give them more exposure and not really hurt them at all, why not sell ebooks?

And hello, first post here. Since I have been lurking I have more than trippled my adsense income from tips I got from reading here :)

the point of my post is that an ebook can be made not to inform people bit to be used as a marketing tool to help increase traffic to your site and adsense clicks.
