The world’s first "Islamic car" will be ready to roll off the showroom floors as early as 2011, the head of the Middle East's biggest carmaker and partner in the project announced on Wednesday.

“This car will be produced with the latest technology and it will measure up to all global standards when it goes into different markets in 2011,” Manouchehr Manteghi, chief executive and president of Iranian manufacturer Iran Khodro told newswire AP.

Oh no, a terrorist car. We definitely will nuke them now. First they steal Exxon profits, and now General Motors.

Preemptive nukular strike all the way. Thanks God for Obama, he'll show these bastards what chemotherapy side effects feel like

I am surprised! What is an Islamic car? It is just a marketing tactic!
An extra compartment or a compass doesn't make it an "Islamic car"... lol, just a marketing tactic by the company...

People around here are using SatNav GPS in their cars, and Iranias ain't gonna fit a compass... It is funny...

Islam is not equal Terrorist. Though I would say it is a marketing tactic. There is nothing that distinguish an Islamic car from GM or Ford or Toyota.

This seems like a rather lame marketing ploy. The features added to make it Islamic are inexpensive and could be added to any car.
