Why does my site have 3rd position in Google but no traffic?

I have a two week old blog that is ranked 3rd for a keyword that receives over 400 searches per day. Why am I not getting any traffic from Google then?

My niche has low competition and poorly optimized sites that I'm trying to beat out for this traffic. My site is even indexed. What gives?

 

Sounds like you used keyword from overture. They sometimes redo term so it is not correct wording. Try looking for term you rank for in other tools and see how much traffic it gets.

 

Maybe only you are seeing it ranked 3rd because of personalized search results

 

Your site might be ranking for the keywords which are not searched too much. Try to do a proper keyword research and then do SEO for better traffic.

 

If your site ranks third in Google then of course it is indexed.

Your site is probably ranking for a keyword that no one searches for, you can't trust some tool to tell you how many times a word is searched for. If you're ranking 3rd and not getting any visitors then obviously no one is looking for that keyword.

 

try www.geoseo.com to see if it realy ranks on 3rd and mazbe that keyphrases has low low traffic

 

forget about keywords, only the spammers look for the keywords.Wake up . Do you think myspace , youtube and facebook ever worry about keywords ?

I have to agree to a point...I would never do anything simply because of the keyword. That seems a little 2004.

 

I have to disagree for obvious reasons. If you're not worried about keywords at all then you are missing out on some traffic.

I disagree. Keywords are very important for SEO. Myspace, youtube, and facebook are three excellent websites so they do not worry too much about keywords. But not everyone can create new ideas and excellent websites every day. To be honest, only few can do that. How many websites can create new ideas like youtube, facebook, and myspace? Compare it with how many webmasters in this world.

It similar with someone who says, "college is not important. Look at Dell, Bill Gates, or Google owners. They dropped out." Now can you answer why most people go to college? Do you know why most parents forced their kids to go to college even though they know many people succeed without college? Do you even know why people work to someone else and not build their own business? Can EVERYONE creates something new like YouTube did 2 years ago?

just use social bookmarking, and your keyword has low search volume, thats why you not getting so much traffic, now just work on any other keyword.

 

how do you know that your keyword is getting 400 searches a day? also if thats the case and your third, that means 2 othe resources are above you and the likleyhood of people not finding what they are looking for in the top 2 results is pretty low hence low traffic, work on your backlinks and on site seo

 

Use different keyword suggestion tools... Don\'t rely on one especially overture since it is not updated last January 2007...

By the way try to build your link popularity.. Build more links... Post stories on Social Bookmarking sites...

 

Can you post what you site is and what the keyword is. I think it would make it a little easier to help figure out your issue.
