Any webmaster on DP has more than 100 sites? Any tips on managing a large number of sites? What parts do you outsource and what parts do you handle yourself?
jimkarter mentions, that he's own company manages 300+ websites! (Section: Year 2007.) And, he made $45,000 in November. That's a huge amount.
Yeah, I have a LOT more than 100 sites, but most of my sites are small, and "no update required" types..so..it's easy. All, I do is make and forget, just SEO, and count the cash.
Yeah, actually, I average much more than $1 per day per site. However, all of it is not profit. Moreover, the revenue is shared among all the members of my team.
I have a list of all the sites I own at home. I think its about 50-60ish. Most are small, lots of forums that have enough mods to keep them under control, i jump in on some of them once in a while when they email some problems. I have a ton of geocities sites I created a long time ago, but I dont remember what they are, some of them still make me a few bucks through AFF....
I run about 100 sites. Lot of them require minmal updates. Majority are proxies/image hosts few blogs. I am right now at the point of out sourcing. I think you can out source anytime, just follow a basic rule of thumb: If you can out source it and still make a profit then you good. If you can outsource it and make just as much of a profit as you could if you did it your self then definitely out source it. If you can make more of a profit then obviously outsource it. You can use your time to do other things to make money. I would gladly spend $1000dollars per month outsourcing if I could make $4000- that sort of thing. Make more then you spend. How to figure that is difficult sometimes, but start small and go bigger. I am forever tempted to just do it myself and keep the money to myself, but sometimes I actually lose money by doing this. Its tough, think about making money off of someone elses efforts. I mean pay them fair, but if you use your head, you can work smarter rather then harder. I mean work hard too, and smart and you can hang out with John Chow and Shoemoney. At a point, you simply can't do everything yourself and always move forward, at least not and maximize your potential earning power. (maybe in a rare circumstance, but not normally) So the question, if you serious about long term success, really isn't whether or not to hire/outsource, but rather when. I say do it as soon as you can make a profit from it, just don't shoot yourself in the foot. Start small, grow big. MAtt
I just build, static content based sites and blogs. Put all content at once, and then just focus on marketing the sites. Its only once in 2 months or so, I update these..
I don't have 100 websites. Only about 10 of them. But I do have over 60 blogs at Blogger.com but most of them are inactive.
