I am posting this because my girlfriend is just finishing up a full time position and she wants to start looking for work in the new year. She doesn't have an account here so she can't post. Anyhow - she is a professional programmer with a degree in programming. Her specialization is PHP and she's been doing all kinds of websites professionally since she graduated in 2004. The kinds of site she worked on are customizations of open source software for clients, shopping carts, galleries, hotel booking engines, XML implementation etc She's not looking for silly money. What she is after is fair pay for good work and a client who knows what he wants and understands the time needed to do a job, and who appreciates a job well done. For her job satisfaction is important so if you change your mind and hence the project spec a lot she is not for you. Of course the work is remote, and hourly rate is best since the customers she want will know how long a job/changes should take. If you want her CV just sticky me. Please indicate what kind of work you have and the approximate hours required per month.

Think I'd better add something here. Most people seem to want mods done to existing and usually undocumented code and they expect it to be done nearly for free. It's impossible to quote this kind of job accurately as you don't know how big the mess is until you get stuck into it. If you want a brand new site or have a module to be written or you have proper existing documentation for what you want modified that's fine. In fact she has some open source software with a large number of plugins like galleries, online shop etc which she can mod really quickly if you want a new site at low cost. That's the kind of work she really digs.
