Google is no doubt learning lots from this .... we're giving them a free, new synergy at thinking of new ways to filter :)

I noticed that the initial Google Base spammers have fallen off the radar.

Absolutely. My guess is that this will effect the overall search results as well. Yes, they handpick the spammers now, but it will teach them about the flaws within their system.

By the way: we have a new number 1 now

The new #1 is from DP again... and why call everyone participating a "spammer"?

Me and WR were referring to a couple of spam results that were in the top 2 pages in the last couple of days, but have since disapepared.

No one said everyone participating is a spammer. But the first 48 hours out of the chute, a lot of people decided they could flood Google Base and get a quick listing. What the got was on the Google Radar

Ayup, I didn't realize you were speaking of just the Gbase spammers. It is funny that they were the first to appear and the first to be nuked. I don't see any blogspot.coms up there now either.

Until this contest I had never seen a Google base entry in the regularr SERP. Was interesting to see them there.

Please don't say that!! :D I got a hard core SPAM page just waiting to be seen by Google!! It's been seen by Google and is indexed, BUT I messed up and Google didn't see the cloaked version, but saw the non-spam version that every one else would see. :(

er some one needs to test Google out on how long it takes to be banned!! :D

    No biggie.

Yes, some blogspots were in the top 20 the first few days out; very few surviving right now, although I do still see one at #31.

    watching-paint-dry.com/v7ndotcom-elursrebmem/

has droped to 5th place while the key-words.ext domains are taking the top.

Yea, from a domain-name perspective, those guys have an advantage. But as noted at the top of the V7ndotcom Elursrebmem for Charity page, there is some some big news coming on Thursday! thanx to a supporter who posts here at DP - so stay tuned for that.

BTW, my guess is he may want to remain anonymous, but lets just say the Canadian Mounties are mounting a full-on PR assult! ;-)

Small update from my end, (will come later on my blog but the server is down due to DNS change):

    1. A black hat SEO team (Taggle Team) from france has entered the scene with about 25 people competing. I have already seen software spam coming from them.

    2. New domains are in the top 5. I am 90% sure this is the fresh filter that I have observered before. Usually new domains ranks very well for the first about 2 weeks and then they hit the sandbox ....
