so I've ben reading a few of these posts and it seems click bombing is a BIG problem. Surely with any kind of success with a site someone will try this against you... to many jealous peeps out there. Anyways, I was wondering preventative techniques tracking software I should use to protect my ASSets. Thanks guys.
I suggest you install some software like ClickAider onto your site which monitors clicks and as soon as you see any suspicious clicking you can block that ip address where it comes from. I am not sure if ClickAider supports click blocking but you can do a little research in google and come out with more software designed so that you can block people from clicking your ads more than 3 times for example. If you do happened to get click bombed and banned from google if you have ClickAider installed you can screen shot the details of the click bombing and mail them to google and chances are you will get unbanned as long as you can provide proof and thats all you really need. Hope that helps.
what would the time frame be from getting banned from adsense and them getting around to looking at your support and giving you true credit for clicks not asiciated with the click bombing. Im just thinking that if someone making a decent revenue from adsense if they get banned and have to wait for reinstatment could mean thousands. Maybe a good technique would be having other programs already registered for but not using. If adsense bans you boom you can copy other code into articles and have ads quickly. Only problemm is that if you hve a lot of articles with adense code already embedded may take a while. Which actually brings up something else in my mind but I will have to post thta on cms boards.
honestly open up an extra account or two with your family members names don't use them till you have to. I use them so i can collect adsense stats. Adsense payments aren't really the main source for a lot of peoples money they use it more as a "heres proof of how much my site makes" so they can claim so and so much when there looking to sell.
so would you say affiliate makes more? I know I dont represent a lot of the online community but I just dont find myself buying stuff online but I do find myself clicking through links. I have rotators that switch different ads and I use a lot of ads from CJ. I havnt marketed my site yet I am still getting the kinks worked out before I start the marketing aspect of it, but I was wondering the ratio I should use when placing ads...Or at least your suggestion as Im sure there is no true answer. So for example average article page ads would be adsense on left column under list of past articles and a 300x250 sqaure top right of article. Maybe a banner at top but those seem to annoy visitors sometimes... Im think of making that an ad spot for other sites hat I dvelop. Your opinion matters. Thanks. Wish I could give a link to the site, but Im uncomfortable doing that at this point.
I haven't had chance to use it yet but everyone used to reccomend AdLogger, it's a free script and i believe you can limit the amount of clicks possible to say 1 or 2 clicks?
Is there a max that a user can click without foulplay in mind. I mean if you have a good site and someone is browsing it for an hour and see,s to click on more than a few ads I dont think the webmaster should be punished. I know it doesnt really matter wht I think but this only makes sense. Does suspicion arise due to CTR, user IP, or what... Im sure it is all the above. Google is a monster.
Don't know, don't care. My job is not to track who clicked my add, how many times or why. This job is for the Adsense team to figure out. If your website is legit, no matter how much click bombed you get, you won't get banned. An important factor Adsense team takes into consideration when banning a user because of invalid clicks is if the website is an MFA or a real website with real content. Peace,
IMO, it is Google's job to safeguard their publishers as well as advertisers by discounting invalid clicks from click-bombing etc. They have big dollars to launch this product and that product and no money to spend for stuff like that. Why? Because they find people getting click-bombed, disable their adsense accounts and steal their hard earned money so easily? Is it what they mean when they say "do no evil!"?
