Topics and infractions

Hello,

I recently added a post of my site

in the Solicitations & Announcements section, where we were giving links at a low cost than the fixed price.

I thought that's the right place to publish about discounts and other announcements, but to my surprise it received an Infraction and the reason given was "Thread Started In Wrong Category"

I'm certainly new to this forum, but I'm not sure if it is wrong to publish/announce new things in this category.

Any help would be great!

Because they were free submitions.

 

I think not to stress to much, ( i am not going mod bashing here ) but it can be difficult trying to understand, yes others do it so perhaps they are given a red to.

I was given a red by a mod and penalized for writing " nice directory " to a post , apparantly the person posted in the wrong section, the post was moved, i was warned for bad language of all things in post i was not supposed to reply in ( after it was moved from a post i could reply in ) so go figure what happens, penalised for stuff beyond your control but the rest of the forum ?

You should have mentioned that its a directory..

 

If you were selling links, it should be at the Link Sales category. Offering submissions (free or paid) should belong on the Solicitations & Announcements section.

I'll keep this in mind the next time we start something similar.

 

I'm guessing this thread was also started in the wrong category - not too sure how it's related to directories? Starting it here might have been a better choice.

But then again, you should refrain from starting threads about infractions.
