    <?php bloginfo('name'); ?> | <span><?php bloginfo('description'); ?>

    Replace this with.
    <img src="Image URL" alt="Any Text you want to appear, when the image is not loaded">

    This will replace your Blog Name with the Image.

    I'm confused -- what does that mean? I've uploaded nflblogheader1.jpg to my public_html/nfl folder.. should I upload it to something like pub_html/nfl/wp-content/uploads ?

    Not Necessarily. But do this.

    You uploaded your Image for e.g. in

    Public_html/nfl/Image01.gif

    Now in the Image URL: <img src="nfl/Image01.gif" alt="Any Text you want to appear, when the image is not loaded">

    When I load the image, it's grossly disproportionate. How do I get it to seamlessly replace the blue bar currently on the screen? It currently takes up about half of that space when I upload it. (prepsx.com/nfl)

    <img src="nfl/image01.jpg width="Your Header Width" height="Your Header Heigh" border=0">

    Well You can use this one. But make sure your header has resolutions more than this or atleast equal to the Widths and heights, you mention here.
