Scenario: I put up website with adsense... My roommate goes to my website and clicks on a sponsored link. Does google see this as me clicking on the link since we share an internet connection?

humn..this question preceeds others in your mind, that
may lead you down a path to being "banned" you were
obviously hoping for a "NO" answer from everyone here
to carry out your clicking scheme.. LOL-

no no no... although it would make my life a lot easier if I could come up with such a scheme. The reason I ask is that he doesn't really know nmuch about this stuff and may inadvertently click on links or what not when hes checking out my progress on certain sites. Guess Ill have to inform/threaten him not to click. :)

    LOL

I would tell your roommate to only click on his own google ads because you do not want your google account getting banned.. LOL

Google would hear no part of that story.. even if completely true and forthcoming..

Absolutely. If he has already clicked on your ads, you should expect the dreaded "you have been banned" email from Google sometime in the near future.

really its that bad? I accidentally clicked a link like a week ago Will they ban you for one or two accidental clicks. Seems like they would just know you clicked it from your computer and not count it. Also, it shows the clicks on my dashboard deal but no money so I figured that is what happened.

Don't let everyone scare you. If you clicked on your own link once by accident, you're not going to Federal Adsense prison. You won't get the dreaded email for a single instance of accidental clicking. If you make it a habit, you probably won't be on the program too long. Tell your room mate to not click your ads and you'll be fine.

Yeah it will not count your accidental click, but if it happens a lot, Google will take note and delete you.
