I know toolbar PR is out of date and yada yada, but you know, I'd be unhappy with a domain till it was at least a PR5. Stupid I know, but anyway, when pagerank updates, what minimum toolbar PR are you cool with?
Most of your responses are going to be something along the lines of "it depends how much work I've put into my site" That said...I think an average and acceptable PR for most would be 4

Well, we all start at 0 Guess I would consider a site 'mature' at 5, most of my site's are 5 or 6 unless they are new.
id be happy if i could get my sites to a 4 but saying that i dont have the time or the patience in trying to do it
Lol, that's a good way to put it. There is no set number for anything. For free directories I'll submit reguardless of PR. For paid directories PR at the time isn't as important if it's a new directory and I think the owner will promote it strong. For my own sites... well each round of toolbar updates I raise my standards. Last PR update I really wanted 4's. This time I expect 5's and 6's. Two hours a day everyday for 3 months I've been acquiring backlinks (mostly 1 way) and spending some cash and drinking lots of Diet Dr. Pepper to keep me moving. Imagine submitting 5-15 sites (depending on how I feel that day and what sites I'm liking) to anywhere from 300 to 1000 directories. And, directories are only part of the promoting. That fuggin sucks. But, hard work today pays off tomorrow.
PR4 is pretty easy to obtain. I could crank out quite a few PR4s given 1 or 2 Toolbar PR update cycles. I'd say a 5 is what I consider worthwhile. That is, if I had to label myself as a PR junky, which I don't.
I mean on an ego level for your own site/s. I expect my new sites to debut at PR5 and all of them to hold at least a 5. I'd be shitty if my first PR update on a new site showed anything less. I know it means nothing but you know, once you know have to get decent links in ... it would just piss me off.
Minimum PR 4 But if you said Maximum... that wud be 8. If you keep trying hard for unique content that immediately grabs attention, then I think Pr 8 is possible.
OK I'll pay that, PR0 and an ego attached means... very happy kicking ass before the oh so slow tbpr updates. Pretty much the only point worth making in this thread goes to SEbasic.
