I am about to rebrand and change sites. Best Way?

Hi I am just about to re-brand and change business names etc.

What I want to do is redirect all traffic from my old site through to my new site.

Obviously I am going to have a few problems getting back into Google and the other SE's for that matter. Whats the best/most efficient way of getting the new site listed into G and everything else?

Am I best to just redirect all pages to the new site or keep both sites running and put the new site in a prominent part of my old site and just 'play the se round about game'?

It's only a PR5 site but want to transfer it across to the new site asap. It is a web design site so I would be adjusting all my clients sites 'powered by' links to my new site.

    Any experiences would be great.

    cheers

    AJ

Best you can do is a 301 redirect. Sometimes works... and sometimes not. search about this on Matt GoogleGuy Cutts' blog

Make sure you redirect the old pages to the corresponding page on the new site rather than pointing them all at the homepage.

    eg redirect oldsite.com/contact.html to newsite.com/contact.html

Redirect 301 is the best we use it many time and have some ranking for new url's
