Being investigated by the FBI

Discussion in 'Legal Issues' started by MrMoolah.com, Dec 14, 2007.

So i had the FBI investigating me, talking to my parents, my girlfriends boss at work, came by the house interviewed my gf. I was literally shitting myself when my girlfriend called to and told me they were at the house. So the "special agent" called me, and we arranged a time and met at a local sporting good store. It appears someone made a major threat to a news station via my proxy and the ip pointed back to me of course. I just want to see if anyone has any advice as to what to do my self, do i have anything to worry about, especially if this threat is carried out???? Thanks and does anyone want to buy a proxy ???? haha

If you didnt do it then you have nothing to worry about.. Tell them your IP was used and hacked in.

I suggest, you hide any other things that is not good in your computer.. lol

The maximum they may ask you is for the server log to try and identify the culprit.

Are you hosting the proxy on your personal PC, or a shared host/vps/dedicated box?

If it's your personal PC, wipe the thing. back up all your crap and do a DOD 7 pass wipe (x2) and reinstall your OS. I'm paranoid :D But if it's a dedicated or some remotely hosted box, you're fine... Just tell them you host a proxy site, yadda yadda.. cooperate as much as you can with 'em.

off the proxies or the adult sites???? either way they are not big, the proxies are new, and one of the adult sites is over a year old with 3342 members, but i don't have it set up correctly to make lots of money, stupid on my part. Don't make much on any of them.

He'll hire an attorney with an IT background and prove his case (he's not guilty of the threatening act). And what "danger?" Is the FBI going to SHOOT him? Noooo...

i figured that i wouldnt, but with all the laws out there i wasnt sure, and if the threat was carried out, it would be kinda of weird, as this whole thing has. I read that its not against the law to have a proxy per something to do with an amendment, but have never heard/read of this kind of stuff happening to anybody.

Make sure you call them pigs and don't cooperate, if at all possible show them your gun and say "How you gone act homi?" that should prove your innocence :)

get a brandable domain and website up and running and then call every newspaper and news station in your area and give them the "exclusive" it'll be massive exposure for you and your website :)
