I know there would have been thousands of threads like this but I might as well post another one...

How do you guys make over 2K/month with Adsense?

This whole year I have made only $35.32!

    Can you share some tips?

I don't have a lot of money to hire SEO's and get much advertising, but I want to get at least $1/day from it!

I am about to start a new website, I was going to make a fishing blog but I am not sure, any website ideas would be good too...

    Thanks.

    Simple

Have some good stuff on you site that makes people go " Hey , look at this"

You ever done that to someone, Like send a link through msn or something and tell them

    "Hey , check this out"

    Well thats your answer,

So many people just rush, and produce that same crap as every other site and then wonder why no ones wants to look at it.

Start writing about your life, or what you know, I bet you are an expert at something

Even if its pissing off people, start a site about that

Just make some GOOD and youll make money ............

As Sundaybrew has said, writing about something you are an expert on is a good place to start. The reason it is good is because you will likely already be familiar with the communities around that topic - the main forums people visit, any social networking groups related to the topic or other blogs that you have bookmarked.

You can be successful only when you believe you can be successful. It doesn't have to cost any money to get a website earning $1 a day. It will cost you time in getting the website prepared and for regular content updates.

If you focus on a particular niche that you enjoy and can write about freely, then you are already on your way to making some money. It may not be $1000s, but it is a start to build on.

Some basic do's and do nots

Do not try and build a site around high paying keywords - competition is too intense and unlikely able to compete effectively.
Do not use autosurf programmes - it isn't real traffic
Do not expect immediate results - it can take 6weeks+ before even getting a new site indexed

Do have your own domain name and hosting package (shared host is fine)
Do produce content regularly (daily preferred).
Do use keywords in page titles
Do look at building relevant links - there are many free link directories and many free article directories that will require some time, but not physical monetary outlay.

Anything , Like people say "just do it"

SEE the problem with most people is that they try to do shit that they have no idea about and then fail, Yes ,some do make it BUT many fail

    For example,

You know how many "hair specialists" are also members of dp , YEA, about 20,000

Well they claim to be when the publish all these crappy "hair removal" sites

They even pay other people to write the crappy content

    RULE #1

    Do what you know...

No matter what your age you know something

    Look, here is a example

I have a swimming pool site because I am also a pool guy for the last 17 years, so I publish basically everything in my brain and because I have real world experience , not only do people like it , they recommend it

So - here is another example

I wanted to start a "heavy equipment" site, for a second site, Now the only thing I know about heavy equipment is that I love watching it,

You know , its totally fun to see a wrecking ball, or even a huge bulldozer pushing snow.

So , I know that I love this stuff , BUT how do I make a site that people will also love....

Do I pay some dude 1 cent per word to wiki wash an article or do I GET more creative and make some shit that ill actually work.

Well here is what I am doing

    1) In my local hometown we have TONS of bulldozers, backhoes etc , working all over the place, so what I do is go around taking pictures of these guys work

    2) Now, I have the pictures and videos that I took myself ( Now , unique & 100% original ) .I will need some good text,

    So what do I do?

Instead of paying $50 to some dude thats going to right some bland and NOT spot on content,

I spend $20 on pizza and soda and I buy the guys lunch on the jobsite and ask then questions while they eat ( yea , nothing is free )

So now that I have asked all my questions, I go home and make my own interesting articles and stories about heavy equipment.

So by now I think you see my point,

You have a thing with public toilets ?....hell start a "worst bathroom" site

The KEY IS BE ORIGINAL ....

Hope this helps and sorry for the long response !

Well the main factor you need is a lot of traffic, you can't make money if there isn't no one to click on your adverts. The next thing depends on what niche you're in, if you are in a low paying niche it will take longer to get to your goal in comparison to a high paying niche. The next most important key feature is adverts placement, you have to have your adverts blending well with your content, but at the same time drawing attention to them, for instance next to a video or an image (as long as it complies with the TOS).

There are many things to take into consideration, I would do some research, Google have even made a heatmap for the best placement ;).

I wouldn't vote for the "anything" approach. Building a website and profiting from it is hard work, lots of it. So start with something you are passionate about, something you'd want to write about even if it is not making you money yet. This way you won't get frustrated and give up as easily. With good contents, as many already pointed out, you will see better traffic over time and your earnings will follow.

I wrote an ebook that outlined exactly what i did when i created my site that was making $1,000/month after 4 months (and is now making over $7k/month after just under 2 years)..
I sold nearly 1,000 copies of that ebook here at DP for $10 each.. Now, that ebook is free in my blog (no advertising, no spam) ..

Have a look, you might get an idea or two.

Just one thing , dont't give up, most of us who are earning a lot more now didnt start earning large amounts over night. Most people give up too early I probably spent a whole year before any one of my 10 sites started earning decent money.

The great thing was that in that 1 year I learnt a lot about how NOT to do things which is what its all about. Theres no text book on how to earn online and most importantly people with good/great ideas rarely go around telling others too much....

    I suggest a few things

1.) Go to Sitepoint MarketPlace and just check out some of the sites for sale and their approximate incomes, see how others are doing it... Im not saying copy them out and out but get a good idea for the types of things that are possible (It will give you hope) and most importantly don't just look at how much their earning but do some searches on google and do some research on where their ranked for certain key words, try to figure out why they are able to earn that much etc etc.

2.) Use the various FREE keyword research tools out there and learn to research popular keywords. Its very important when you select domain names and particular subjects you want to write about. And as said above dont jump into the most popular competitive keywords , just look for something in the middle ground.

3.) You don't have to get over whelmed and actually post new content each day. Just do it reasonably regularly, I usually update content on my sites every 2-3 weeks (probably fine for my sites as they're not blogs) and they get indexed perfectly fine.

Anyway just hang around on DP,SP and learn....but then actually do stuff as well... webmastering is far from being a science its still an art form to be honest... so what you achieve is up to you..

Traffic = money. Well, no, without quality content and traffic, then I wouldn't be making a dime. Sure, you can bust your butt everyday creating content - but how will you be able to earn money from your content? Well, spreading the word usually helps your traffic flourish - but without spreading the word about your site, you won't be able to become a successful adsense earner.

We all know traffic = money, but how can we build traffic? Well, it's simple - you can exchange links with relevant sites, have people mention your sites in their blogs - or better yet, link to your sites in your signature. Word of mouth is a very powerful tool guys.

yea but traffic doesn't always mean money. It depends on the type of traffic you want quality traffic that actually clicks ads. For example many of these big social networking/bookmarking sites don't have good traffic that converts. I once got a article front paged on digg and got literally 50k in traffic to my blog. My CTR went from 4-5% all the way down to .0x% which is basically not even worth my time to write the article and try to get it front paged on digg. I now spend my time writing content that will attract people from SEARCH ENGINES since those visitors obviously are worth more to me. I'd rather have 1$/day in adsense income for the next 365 days rather than 500$ in one day from a digg front page.
