Newbie Feeling Dumb

    Hello,

I am new here, and new to building sites as well. I'm just feeling dumb, so I want to rant. I don't expect ANY responses, and this may not be the right place for this (is it?), but whatever.

I worked my dumb butt off making a new site with DreamWeaver. I had no clue what I was doing, and I still don't to a large extent. I made it look pretty good though.. I think.. but now how in the hell am I supposed to get links? Quality links??? Nobody wants to link with me, except for stupid scams and directories. If google wants to see a bunch of links to me, how in the heck do I do that for a commercial site???? Nobody wants to talk to a PR0, so how did everyone else do it???

I think you all have a secret. I bet you all have a bunch of sites and link back and forth, and maybe with your friends?? Is that it? I just don't know what else to do to try to get links. I feel stuck, and very frustrated.

Have you pros gone through this before? Know how I feel? very, very frustrating. I thought that maybe some nice sites would work with me if I gave some content/ articles, but no luck. Grrr...,

Maybe I'm being a baby. Maybe this is part of "it". I dunno. Well, I'm trying. If any of you want to throw me some advice, or laugh at me, my dumb site is http://www.KidsAreExpensive.com . It's a family/ parent site.

Help, plzzzz.. or not.. it felt good to vent!!

    :O)

Search the link sales section to find blog networks and other links that you can obtain.

Keep pressing on is the best advice I can give you, i remember being in your shoes just a few short months ago. The support I received from the DP community was all i needed to keep going and learning everyday.

Having good contacts in your niche is always good.

I'd start by leaving comments on blogs which relate to your subject with a link back to your site, there are quite a few blogs which don't use the nofollow attribute.

Other than that post in the link exchange section, i'm sure someone will link exchange with you, unless your getting hardly any traffic that is.

it was a nightmare for me too, i already felt down more than others. Im a jobless fresh graduate at that time and had spend all my money to send my resume and to be honest im broke. But, as a positive thinker i never allowed anythings grab me down again and again. Im starting my journey as internet marketer doing JV with my friend. He knew about design while im good on dealing with client. Slowly we grow our service until now. This journey is not just about creating money, you will learn how to survive even you're alone.

Until now, im still failed to flood my site with a traffic. But, exchange link is not the only way to generate traffic/backlink. Don't close your mind by thinking like this. Explore yourself and you will find a good and easy way is always in front of your eyes. Internet marketing is not just about adsense and affiliate. It's a wide range online business, in which you failed to discover in short time.

Keep your spirit high and don't blamed others if you want to success.

I bet it would really help to have some good contacts. Dang...

Comments on blogs? It seems like folks get ticked when you do that. Then they just delete them. Hmmm... Maybe it's a number game?? need to try that. thanks!!

I have written a few articles on ezines for parents. I don't think anyone has picked them up.

I have tried listing on some of the directories, but are they a waste of time? The few I tried go nuts with spam after submitting.

Buying them--- no dough 4 now. lol

    Great advice! Thanks.

Don't ever say that you are being "dumb"/ There is no one here that has been born with the internet or http: embedded into their brains. This is why this such a great forum. Lots and lots of ways to lean from the trial and errors of others.

Directories are a good source of backlinks.
If you go to the directories section here you will see that there are many offers for free submision. that's where I would start.
If you have some money to spend, get a service (here too) for somebody to submit your site to diretories.

For article submission, I would recommend articlemarketer.com and isnare.com
Also, Samanthapia (she's a user here) has a great service with spinning options too.

    good luck

Do not make multiple/continous posts, or you'll get banned before you can learn much ;)
