Google Backlinks Question

Discussion in 'Google' started by webmaster_TSU, Dec 13, 2007.

I checked my backlinks on Google for my blog, and it only gives 33 backlinks. I knew for a fact that I had more links that weren't showing up, so I checked my backlinks in Yahoo...I had 631.

So, is it just something where Google doesn't update there backlinks often?

the link: operator in google hasnt shown accuarte results for some time.

Google only ever shows a small sample of the backlinks it knows about unless you use their webmaster tools.

try http://www.alltheweb.com - shows more of google data or signup for webmaster tools, again showing you more google data, look on the bright side by not showing many publically it stops competitors rifling through your backlinks for their own gain

Don't rely on any search engine to index all your backlinks. It just doesn't happen.

It's probably just a waiting game but make sure that all your pages have different <title> tags... and make sure that you've submitted your site map to Google :)

    Good luck :)

    Cheers, p.

google backlinks only shows some of your links randomly, and this is a sad part, only few of them are shown.

How did you check the links? By using link: operator? Or from inside google webmaster tools? The latter seem to update their backlink data every 4-5 days.

Google doesn't show all of your backlinks. But if you have an account in google webmaster tools you can view all of your backlinks in google.
