Is Ezinearticles going against the Google TOS?

I was wondering why it's ok for ezinearticles to have Google Ads on a page with "Gambling or casino-related content".

Are you allowed if you have a big enough website or make a certain amount per month?

I contacted AdSense to validate this use of the code, but I'm not sure if this is allowed or not.

 

I would imagine its because it isn't actually a gambling/casino website

 

I hope this thread doesn't come across as ratting on them or anything, because I really like Ezinearticles and it's a great asset to the internet as a whole (for webmasters as well as those who read the articles).

Yeah, I was thinking that, but the TOS says Gambling or casino-related "content", not "website".

 

Why are you in question over the tags?

Ezinearticles is allowed and you are not unless Google give you the green light.

The webpage is about gambling, thus it's against Adsense rules.

Pretty clear.

 

For publishers this big, they probably get special privileges as they definately wouldnt fly under the radar...

 

Google might look the other way because their system does not allow gambling ads (for the most part) to begin with.

I don't know what Ezine makes on adsense, but I doubt it is "huge".

I was wondering the same yesterday while setting my Articles website.

I'm usign the script remarked in my signature and it comes with adsense integration, matter to add your publisher ID as we do here in the profile area.

Once setup and using the content they offer to save your time, I opted to display all, including betting and gambling categories. Google is there but even odd because Adsense is able to deliver gambling related advertising in that area.

Surfing the web I found not only Ezinearticles but many other sites are serving google ads (probably automatized scripts like mine) and Google serves the advertising according the keywords context.

btw, some of them have not Gambling categories but Authors submitted them as "Entertainment", "Leisure" or anything else.

 

I am guilty as well. Content Tycoon uses templates so the ad sense is on my gambling section by default. I am modifying this, but the Google terms are interesting.

It says it's against the rules to promote adsense on any website that CONTAINS gambling oriented content. This means that even if you don't use adsense on the gambling section, you are still in violation.

I doubt Google would do anything if you removed adsense from the gambling pages, but their rules state otherwise.

There are AdSense at the top of this thread, and this thread is pretty much about gambling.. Does that mean Adsense is not allowed on this page?
I dont think Google will be too strict, the site obviously not a gambling site, and neither are they trying to intentially cheat the system.

That's a very interesting point.

The same could apply with a blog. If I ran a personal blog and wrote about a night out at a casino or something, I wouldn't want to sensor myself in fear of an adsense violation.

But I guess it's about how strictly they interperate the rules.

Forums are dynamic and you can't control what members discuss. However, in the case of Ezinearticles, we're talking about a dedicated section of the site specifically for gambling and casino content. If you have a forum that is specifically dedicated to gambling or casino threads, then I would think that would go against the TOS.

There was more to it but they were very serious, it was NOT a carbon copy e-mail that gets auto sent out. Someone took the time to at least add to it.

 

The question is what their definition of "gambling/casino content" is. If they mean actual gambling/casino games where you can lose money, then that is very different from an article that teaches you a strategy on how to win at Blackjack.

 

I pointed them at my article categories (Gambling Card Games and Online Gambling) and they said all of it.
