Age of Domain - SEO

    I recently bought a site....I checked archive.org and found that it has been used before in 2001. I know that age of the doamin is a plus in SEO.


    What I want to know is that...if this has been registered before and I accidentally found it in doamin registration as expired and bought it...does it's old age count in terms of SEO

    No it doesnt hold the age. If it was dropped although the counter is not reset the age truly is.

    I was lucky enough to know guys that got domains before they ever dropped so my rankings worked out of the box.

    By them before they do ;)

    I got buds who buy them from others then I buy them from them. Domains 1.2.3.4.5.6.7.8.9.10+ years old.

    It doesn't help tremendously but I know it does some + no sandbox wait time ;)

    No officially, but I believe they still have a form of it ;)

    Otherwise my newer sites would be ranking already and they dont. Takes about 2 months still.

    Yep, Google prevents new sites(sometimes even up to 6 months) from immediately getting higher SERPS.

    Once a domain name changes registrars or owners the SEO weight is effected, not so much if the domain never expires. Don't expect to buy "just" a domain name and expect the same SEO results pagerank\serp wise, that would just be silly. Even when you buy a full working website and don't change anything you might see SERP fluctuation depending on the maturity of the site vs competitor sites and current SEO weight.
