    Where did you learn the Damascus language? I have heard about Damascus somewhere in my history class but never heard about its language.

    lol. First of all Damascus is a city, the capital of Syria. And the language he translated from is Arabic since that is the language they use in Syria. If you got more questions just ask :)

    Nice poem Ace!

    Thanks for posting this old, ignorant, and insulting poem.

    Do you really think that anyone finds your posts insulting other religions amusing?

    Do you think these insults make people more likely to embrace or care about Islam?

    You do a disservice to your own religion every time you try and mock another.

    What did you like about this poem so much?

    Love

    Then said Almitra, "Speak to us of Love."

    And he raised his head and looked upon the people, and there fell a stillness upon them. And with a great voice he said:

    When love beckons to you follow him,

    Though his ways are hard and steep.

    And when his wings enfold you yield to him,

    Though the sword hidden among his pinions may wound you.

    And when he speaks to you believe in him,

    Though his voice may shatter your dreams as the north wind lays waste the garden.

    For even as love crowns you so shall he crucify you. Even as he is for your growth so is he for your pruning.

    Even as he ascends to your height and caresses your tenderest branches that quiver in the sun,

    So shall he descend to your roots and shake them in their clinging to the earth.

    Like sheaves of corn he gathers you unto himself.

    He threshes you to make you naked.

    He sifts you to free you from your husks.

    He grinds you to whiteness.

    He kneads you until you are pliant;

    And then he assigns you to his sacred fire, that you may become sacred bread for God's sacred feast.

    All these things shall love do unto you that you may know the secrets of your heart, and in that knowledge become a fragment of Life's heart.

    But if in your fear you would seek only love's peace and love's pleasure,

    Then it is better for you that you cover your nakedness and pass out of love's threshing-floor,

    Into the seasonless world where you shall laugh, but not all of your laughter, and weep, but not all of your tears.

    Love gives naught but itself and takes naught but from itself.

    Love possesses not nor would it be possessed;

    For love is sufficient unto love.

    When you love you should not say, "God is in my heart," but rather, I am in the heart of God."

    And think not you can direct the course of love, if it finds you worthy, directs your course.

    Love has no other desire but to fulfil itself.

    But if you love and must needs have desires, let these be your desires:

    To melt and be like a running brook that sings its melody to the night.

    To know the pain of too much tenderness.

    To be wounded by your own understanding of love;

    And to bleed willingly and joyfully.

    To wake at dawn with a winged heart and give thanks for another day of loving;

    To rest at the noon hour and meditate love's ecstasy;

    To return home at eventide with gratitude;

    And then to sleep with a prayer for the beloved in your heart and a song of praise upon your lips.

    I was expecting you to leave a comment soon, after the rep you left, took your time. ;)

    No insults here, simple application of logic.

    I left you no rep, I don't care about you that much.

    Truthfully, I didn't expect you to acknowledge the ignorance or insults you do by posting the poem. My posts are for other readers of your thread. You are free to wallow in your own ignorance.

    No need to lie, ok?

    As for my ignorance, do help an 'ignorant' fool like myself by pointing me to 1 single unequivocal statement in the bible that tells us Jesus is God. ;)

    I can prove it by giving you one now. Since, if I had given you one on this thread it will not let me leave another.

    If I do give you a new rep will you honestly post that you are a liar accusing me of things I did not do?

    I am happy to give you a new rep right now....

    You assumed I sent you a red rep. You were wrong.

    Your thinking about the poem is equally flawed.

    This is all so silly

    Jesus is meant to be the "Son of God", not "A God" and is the poem implying the Mohammed was never a child who breastfed? who gestated in the womb?

    In the end religion is based on faith and there is no real proof, just faith and hope.

    Well, this poem is aimed at the christians that say Jesus is God himself.

    Anyways it also calls him Son of man and son of David, they cant all be literal?
    I can also prove to you Son of God is not literal because it is used for other prophets in the bible.

    Yes Mohammad was also a child at one point, he is a prophet, as was Jesus, peace be upon them, this is the whole point.

    GOD IS NOT A MAN. (It says it in your bible also)

    Many Christians also reject the trinity! http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Unitarianism

    Speak for yourself.

    well it might, if I had one. I acknowledge and respect all religions and those who adhere to a faith - despite needing and searching for answers when I was younger I failed to step beyond "faith and hope" and become a true believer. I am in awe of those who are.
