Yet you quote it... You must really like me to post my face in your avatar.. My fan base is really growing.
Without your awesome posts and fountain of knowledge that you bring to this forum, it would be nothing! AND DONT U FORGET THAT! I think my posts that annoy you will now cause you to get annoyed everytime you look in the mirror. Thanks to the art of subconscious association!
I always love how the last word needs to be posted into a previous post after a response is made.. Why not just post another reply? There is only one person annoyed here.. This is just an internet forum... I don't come to it, or walk away from it upset, annoyed, or well.. anything... I guess that is just a sign of a thing called maturity. When you grow up, you too will calm down and come back to earth. You are way too young to be so angry and to be taking life so seriously. Ah, actually I do.. You guys cannot resist engaging me in a discussion.. Now if you could just post something interesting and exciting, I might actually continue to fulfill your wishes and continue in the diatribe.
The crazy thing is that the democrats in congress are reponsible for a of the problems and a guy like Bush is scape goated. Nancy Pelosi started the controvesy with Turkey and its supposed to be Democrats that are going to make the world our friends. http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Bill_Clinton_pardons_controversy
nope, you are wrong again, it was USSR. US saved the world in 1945? )))) Oh, please, could you post some links of this statement? It's okay if they will be american, I will bookmark them. Europe suffered the most and USSR took down the most, theres a whole thread here on this.
The USSR and China suffered but we are talking about HOW THE USA WON AGAINST THE AXIS US forces were deployed on three fronts - Italy, France and Pacific. You are forgeting about US forces in the Pacific as well as the strategic bober command of B17, B24, B25 and B29 bombers. Pacific forces numbered approx 30 Divisons, 35 Aircraft Carriers, 12 Battleships and 24 Cruisers. The US had 22 Army Divisons and Six Marine Divisons (Full Strength) fighting Japan as well as they largest Navy in History. A battleship or aircraft carrier along with escorts is equivalent to an Army Divison. US Naval Strength at Battle of Leyte Gulf 1944 17 aircraft carriers 18 escort carriers 12 battleships 24 cruisers 141 destroyers and destroyer escorts Many PT boats, submarines and fleet auxiliaries About 1,500 planes 22 Army Divisions Sent to Theater 6th Infantry division 7th Infantry division Americal Infantry division 24th Infantry division 25th Infantry division 27th Infantry division 31st Infantry division 32nd Infantry division 33rd Infantry division 37th Infantry division 38th Infantry division 40th Infantry division 41st Infantry division 43rd Infantry division 77th Infantry division 81st Infantry division 93rd Infantry division 96th Infantry division 98th Infantry division Philippines Infantry division 11th Airborne division 1st Cavalry division http://www.historyshots.com/usarmy/DisplayTheater.cfm?t=Pacific
Okay, my turn: At 03:15 on 22 June 1941 ninety nine (including fourteen Panzerdivisions and ten motorized) of 190 German divisions, drawn against the Soviet Union stormed it from Baltic to the Black Sea Now compare your numbers to these: Summary of Axis and Soviet Tank and Self-propelled Gun production during the war 1941-195: Soviet - 99,488 German - 61,600 Summary of Axis and Soviet Aircraft production during the war: Soviet - 136,314 German - 100,210 Casualties: The fighting involved millions of German and Soviet troops along a broad front. It was by far the deadliest single theatre of war in World War II, with over 5 million deaths on the Axis Forces; Soviet military deaths were about 10.6 million http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Eastern_Front_(World_War_II)
On page 510 of Eisenhower's "Crusade in Europe", Marshal Zhukov is said to have made the following admission to Eisenhower: "When we come to a minefield our infantry attacks exactly as if it were not there. The losses we get ... we consider only equal to those we would have got from machine guns and artillery if the Germans had chosen to defend that particular area with strong bodies of troops instead of with minefields." Here we have a rare admission from a top-level Soviet commander that the Russians did resort to bulldozing tactics without consideration for losses involved. Aircraft Production WW2 U.S. 303,713 USSR 158,218 http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/WW2_aircraft_production Military trucks United States = 2,382,311 Soviet Union = 197,100
the tactics is another story, Im not talking about Soviet casualties, Im talking about how many Germans died in battles with Red Army. Thats the main point. You better say how many Germans died in battles with US army. Regarding production of military weapons, there can be 10 ml produced, but 1,000 used. http://wiki.answers.com/Q/Why_didn't_the_US_enter_World_War_2_sooner Thats known to all, how can you say that you saved the world after that^ statement?
The Europeans want it both ways. The Americans intervene and they are too blame and if the Americans don't intervene they complain. You are missing the point that the US fought three war in Pacific / France / North Aftrica & Italy The US also fought a naval war and a strategic bombing campaign against both Japan and Germany. 26000 American airmen of the 8th airforce were killed against Germany alone.
Its clear that I could not have said it any better myself. To puncuate: The Brits dont win the war without the United States. The French bent over. And to the unpreciateve sons on the war generation, If you buy the premise that Russia wins the war without the US, then you are probably drab like ths Soviet Union you would have lived in... fantasy of course. It is what it is, and the Euros of that time could appreciate it. I should have named this thread Anti-American DEPRESSED AND UNMOTIVATED EUROPEANS. Is Europe just sick and dying??
I asked a clear question, how many German troops were killed in battles with US army? Where is the answer? Now think what would have been if the war was without USSR or if USSR would have joined Germany. Its not even 500K US troops died in that war, how can you compare it to mls of soviet deaths? The most input belongs to USSR and it took down the majority of German Army, you cant argue with that. However, notice I never said that we alone "saved the world", this kind of statement can only an American citizen say. Thats ok, America is far away on another continent, they can way whatever they want. This is not just my opinion, its all known fact, who would you believe Americans or 20 + other nations ? It's you who is living in the bubble. And thats whay euros dont like you, you've got no respect to anyone and will be arguing about life on Mars with marcians sitting in Florida.
Man Russians get edgy over this stuff... Here is an image I like to refer to: Clearly there were more Russian (Soviet - whatever) deaths.. But then again, there were a hell of a lot of highly UNTRAINED, UNDERARMED Russian troops.. Many of these deaths can be attributed to multiple factors, the least of which is actual combat wounds.. Clearly the war would not have been won without the Russians, nor the US, nor the various contributions of all the allied forces. Now some things we cannot forget to add here.. The Russians had a secret pact with the Germans. A non-aggression pact whereby they agreed not to attack each other. After the invasion of Poland, which France, Russia and others sat by and let happen... The secret provisions in the pact then divided Poland between Germany and Russia. It also gave the Soviet Union control of Latvia, Lithuania, Estonia, and Finland.. Might want to ask some of these guys how much love they have for mother Russia as it once stood... IMO, in retrospect, Russia was doing everything wrong for the right reasons, and everything right for the wrong reasons. In the end, I suspect they thought Germany would be a power to contend with, and wanted to buy themselves as much time and territory/man power and resources as they could in the interim, until the would have to face Germany.. Russia knew damn well that Germany could not win a war on two fronts, and as such, bought that extra time in anticipation of the US's entry into the war and eventual two front conflict that ultimately crushed the Germans.. If the Russians had not taken on Germany, I'm fairly certain Germany's war machine would have completely toppeled anyway.. They were out of fuel and other raw materials. The US could have threatened to drop a bomb on them like in Japan... Anyway, my point here is I do not think it is fair to defend mother Russia's glory in WWII against the Germans unless you also include the motive behind their actions at the time... I should also add that civilian deaths appear to trump everything when it comes to casualties in WWII...
I repeat once more, not talking about soviet casualties. Im talking about German losses with Red Army. I never said that we alone did it, only saying that most Germans died on eastern front and our input was the biggest. I just was shocked to see that "US saved the world in ww2". Well, maybe thats because you on another continent. In Europe everyone knows much more about this war. here are some links in my other post: http://forums.digitalpoint.com/showthread.php?p=5616366#post5616366
Germany lost about 7 million people in total.. How many of those were to the Red Army? No idea.. Wiki appears to put the number around 500,000 to 1 million. Compare that to the fact that 1 million of the 6 million Jews charcoalized by the Germans were Russians... Kinda scary.. Only Poland had more Jewish deaths.. Compare this also to the untold number of women that died in Berlin. Apparently Russians raped as many as 100,000 women in Berlin alone.. Not sure how many Germans the Red's got there... Sources http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Expulsion_of_Germans_after_World_War_II http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/World_War_II_casualties Yes, a great many Germans died on the Eastern Front.. Out of 7 million, likely, 500k, to 2 million depending on who you believe including the expulsion.. So worst case that leaves like 5 million more that died in Europe itself and toward the West.. I know a lot died in U-Boats, ships and planes.. Either way, who cares.. ? I'm not sure what point you are trying to make.. What does this have to do with being an anti-American European again?
I thought I posted it many times before: http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Eastern_Front_(World_War_II) Raped? If you knew what these nazis were doing to our people, raping would not scare you at all. The problem is you dont know it. The point is to not say that US saved the world in ww2, that has got notning to do with this thread either.
