I want my keyword rank on top of google. Please give some direct advise on what to do.

For example, the keyword is "digitalpoint".

How do I bring my site on top of search engine using the keyword "digitalpoint"?

Please post clear steps if possible.

    Thanks

If the content of your website is relevant and matches your keywords you should be ranking well for them.Relate to your keywords such that your web -profile completely supports them.Check your SEO score and use proper keywords.Try word tracker for getting more specific keywords.

Well.......is better to use a keyword phrase rather than a single general keyword. You can also add some logical term with your main keyword. Also If you are using images then must add alt attribute to write a little discription of an image an also add your keywords there......yous wherever you can add your keywords in your content but
remember your keyword density should not be more than 4%.

Also remember to add your keywords in your anchor text of inbound links.

    1. Create a page, with actual content (500+ words) using the keyword in a natural way (i.e. "I'm keyword writing keyword about keyword" is bad, "For people interested in keyword, you will find the following useful" is good.
    2. Use the keyword in the title of the page
    3. Use structure, i.e.
    <h1>History of Keyword</h1>
    ....
    <h2>Keyword in the middle ages</h2>\
    ...
    <h2>Keyword in the 1960's</h2>
    ...
    <h2>Keyword today</h2>
    ....
    <ul><li>keyword quotes</li>
    <li>keyword trivia</li></ul>

    4. Use keyword in your title, meta description, alt tags of images, *organically* -- see step 1

    5. Write other pages related to 'keyword', and link them together

    6. Either wait for other people to notice your pages, or find *related* pages & email the webmaster & ask them to link to your 'keyword' page

How about promoting the site to other blogs or forums using "digitalpoint" as anchor text? Does this make sense?

Apply proper on-page such as attaching KW on your title tag, use of headers tags, attaching kW on your quality content. Then proceed to off page, make your site popular in major SEs, do link building/ build quality IBLs,. use you target KW as an anchor,.

If you are after for a quick result, better start in using longtail keywords

Content is king .. and make sure it is relevant to the search you target.

Now..If we all new the trick we would all be pretty well off .. :) But you can not top good content as readers want to visit you and Google and others will find that very attractive in the process.

Not to take away from this thread, but if anyone is interested in an example of a site that has had all of the above done, but does not yet rank at all for it's keywords, have a look at my site School Loan Consolidationand tell me if you see anything wrong. Granted it's a new site, but after a lot of link building, article submission, all the stuff, I don't rank in google anywhere for those keywords. I have good keyword density, proper use of H tags, good content on the homepage and subpages, so I'm just lost. Ideas are appreciated..and maybe we can all learn something. Thanks.

It really takes time to get ranked. But while waiting for the ranking result, you will lose nothing on link building and promotion.

My 3-year old local forum was ranked after 8 months and because I established much backlinks on that site, it got an automatic rank 4 when the result revealed.

Don't get disappointed if you don't see an immediate result.

Yeah, unfortunately it takes time...I could care less about my PR when it get's ranked...I just want to get on the first page for my keywords. I've had that happen with sites in under a month, but I'm struggling with this one.

The reason why most people get failed because they don't have patience and perseverance. After doing a lot of promotion and not seeing good effect, they gave up.
