    for this?
well i guess that depends on how many times you posted a message similar to that.
if your posts lack quality and or substance, infractions may follow.

just my thoughts, i could be wrong.

    What thread/post was it in?

"$10 / month pm me if interested." could be considered vulgar if it was about someones daughter or maybe a thread about goats if taken in some strange context.

Honestly though, there is likely a good chance it was worthy of an infraction, though maybe not for the reason given.

It depends on the context, however you might get another infraction for starting this thread.

Maybe post-padding because you didn't have to post that - the OP of that thread specifically asked for YOU to PM HIM with your offers.

The reason was most likely sent to your email, if you have that enabled.

I do not think that was the reason because if you look at this thread http://forums.digitalpoint.com/showthread.php?t=579177 many people did the same thing when the OP asked for a PM. In Fact when I pointed out that I sent a PM because that is what the OP requested, I got an infraction for it.

If you are correct, almost everyone in this thread should get an infraction. :)

A mod posted in that thread...

in my experience of getting infractions (I have one now *sigh*) the post is still there and there is no indication that I got in trouble for what I posted. IMHO, this misleads other members into thinking "hey, this is OK, I see it all the time".

Meaning, that yeah, everyone in that thread could very well have an infraction and no one but the mod team, and the individual members would be the wiser.

In cases where the OP says "PM me" and that is followed with members saying "PM me" then those are, in a way, pointless posts ~ though I am unsure if they are treated evenly across the board.

My interpretation of the infraction is the follows. OP states

It appears you did not read and follow directions hence the inappropriate post infraction. Katy's advice is correct. Since you have elected to receive emails from mods and admins you probably have a PM regarding the infraction.
