I didn't use adsense for almost 6 months and I've came back to it only after they changed the ads text for non-clicking ads so I don't know if my rev should be more and it's not because of google :|

It might not be an issue with the new click-through area, it's almost Christmas time, of course, the earnings will drop. Advertisers are paying less.

    Wait til 08! :)

My Adsense went down by at least 20%
My TTZMedia went up by 73%
My Amazon went up by 3% despite pulling the widgets
My CJ has stayed the same

Those who see a major drop were a bit lucky earlier. Your visitors were just clicking for fun/or accidently. the real clicks are coming now, this is what google wanted. Only real clicks not accidental to screw advertisers.

Just improve your blending and the money will start to flow.

Hmm today's revenue seems to be back up, I wonder if there was a bug in their reporting? 20% is a big drop especially when there is a traffic increase. Also I watch my heat map pretty close to make sure my ads are effective so I doubt it was accidental clicks. Sounds like something was broken over at Adsense to me.

My revenue didn't change after ads clickable area rolled out.
I believe google reduce our clickable area but increase up per clicks revenue

My earning drop from 3-4 bucks per day to 0.20 cents per day.. :(

Any idea why it fell down so low? No major changes has been made on my end.. Stills ame number of traffic everyday..

    Cheers!

My AdSense revenue increased after the new click area. I never relied on accidental clicks anyway :)

Google has certainly increased CPC and I am happy with that because my CTR also increased due to more traffic and since CPC is good too, I am making more than ever :) I earned my highest amount in November but I know that my earnings might fall this december because of holidays :s

Google doesn't "increase up per clicks revenue". The per click rate is based on market demand and the bidding in Adwords for ads relevant to your site. This could be the effect of some advertisers backing off because its approaching Christmas, but that really makes no sense. Look at the other forms of media. Most of them are off the charts with an end of year blitz to get all the sales they can... particularly in my site's space. But as I said before, diversify your ad portfolio and then one network dropping doesn't completely kill you. What goes up can come back down.

You say we are now getting the "real clicks" and then go on to say to "improve your blending". The whole point of "blending" is to get people to accidentally click on the ad thinking its a part of your site.

I seriously doubt that I've been getting accidental clicks for four or five years that changed because of their format change. I don't hide the Adsense ads... in most cases they are a different color from the page and have been flagged numerous times by Adsense saying they could be blended in better. What doesn't make any sense is that Google regularly tells me to make my ads more integrated and hidden, then they make changes that appear to be designed to work against that advice.

One thing is clear from this thread. There are a LOT more people that are getting a big drop in revenue, than the other way around. This would seem to have a big impact on Google's earnings I would think.

You expect a company to pay you for something that does not produce results????

Advertisers pay more at Christmas..... not less

Please study general business and how most companies earn most of their revenues in the 4th quarter before posting statements that are completely inaccurate....

Google performed an update on or about 12/10/07 that removed a large number of pages from their index. I suspect that this may be what you all are seeing.

On the 7th, my site had 543,000 pages indexed by Google while a few days later the figure dropped nearly 300,000 pages. (I track this figure weekly and it was very predictable over the past year. This was a major adjustment. AdSense revenue dropped about 50% as a result.

    Results obtained using site:bookmarksync.com
    8/12/2007 227,000
    9/24/2007 248,000
    10/23/2007 297,000
    11/2/2007 419,000
    12/7/2007 543,000
    12/13/2007 249,000

Even though my total web presence only slid about 20% (I still have 800,000 pages indexed across all the major search engines), Google has such a monopoly on traffic the hit was still significant.

The companies that own shopping sites - yes, but not niche powered sites.

If that's the case, then why aren't we seeing higher earnings? Your information is inaccurate because it doesnt apply to all webmasters.
