The mail man that stole Christmas

I was just reading in the newspaper about a mail man in Brooklyn New York who has been stealing mail since February. The authoritiesdid a sting operation to catch him with a tracking device in a card. They caught him with 135 Christmas Cards in his car. The fool said he has been stealing up to 35 cards a day and who knows how much cash. :(

How pitiful is that, you can not even trust the mail man with your Christmas cards. I guess he will be termed the "Grinch of the 21st century."

Think of all the little kids waiting for a Christmas card from Grandma. :(

That's crazy. What's crazier is that people send cash through the mail.

That is when he starting stealing mail, I assume he stole all kinds like Birthday cards. They just caught him with a Christmas card sting.

Older people like Grandma still send cash. They just still trust that the mail man won't steal it.

However, when I use to sell a lot on eBay, you would be surprised how many people sent cash, if I was dishonest, I could have just claimed I never received it.

    pssst it's called a joke :p lol

But really it isn't uncommon, thats why I like to get to know my postman :)

Also I usually know what is being sent to me (if it has money in it).

Agree with eruct... The mail is for things that arent really that important, it's slow and a bit dodgy. Christmas bank transfers, please?

Never heard of sending a Christmas card or gift through a bank transfer, interesting. :D

How do you arrange that? Do you just ask the person for their bank information or does the person receiving the gift tell everyone to transfer money as their Christmas gift? :D:D

I know that, but if someone sends you money for a gift, they are normally not going to send ask for your bank information so they can send you the money.

Did none of you every have a Grandmother who sent you a card with cash for Christmas?

the law in the USA is 1 years jail for each postage stamp on the mail stolen.
135 Christmas Cards in his car is at least 135 years in jail. wow

You would learn if you lived here, the law is not always black and white, most likely he will plea bargain and get community service or 30 days in jail.

Worse thing is you'll see your Christmas card scanned posted in a blog with your name on it.
