now, this is a hobby site (fansite for the band arctic monkeys). im not expecting it to make thousands of dollars per month, but because the visitor numbers are strong, i feel that i could be achieving a higher ctr.

currently, the greatest performer is the link unit under the header (ive only recently implemented channel tracking) and the worst performer is the half banner on the left side.

there are also ads on the content pages.

The reason the vertical banner on the left sidebar doesn't perform is because you've isolated it from the content by putting a border around it. Wrap the content borders to include the left sidebar ad.

A better placement might be to put a banner between the first and second blog entry.

Last, put a leaderboard at the very bottom of the page. Often users get to the bottom of the page and wonder what next. Give them a good option to click on your ads.

    Hope this helps.

Leaderboard at the BOTTOM? I thought I'd tried everything. Now I'm going to have to run off and see how that works! ...

alright. i was wondering if it's worth putting a few images over the leaderboard? but, would it be as effective seeing as it's at the bottom of the page?

I think you should add 468x60 horizontal banner in top of your articles.

My bottom leaderboard has always had 0 clicks. I don't want to move it though, I hate ad cluttered sites :)
